Guest Interview - Mary Corrales

Please help me welcome special guest author Mary Corrales!

Thank you Amber for inviting me here today. I hope I can entertain your readers a bit or at least not cause them to click away screaming. Lol.

Q: Tell us about your current release.

Tasting Camilla just came out March 4th through Breathless Press. It's a paranormal/vampire erotic story. If women love the tall, dark and dangerous types, then this story is definitely a toe-curler. Vladislas is a bad-ass hero with no reservations at to who and what he is, and Camilla is the strong woman destined to be his heart.

Q: Has someone been instrumental in inspiring you as a writer?

Firstly, my mom who taught me to read at an early age and gave me a true love of all types of books. Nowadays, my best friend and fellow author, Kari Thomas, is my inspiration. I love her shifter stories and am in awe of her ability to craft such amazing characters.

Q: When in the day/night do you write? How long per day?

I don't really have a typical time that I write. I just like to feel as if I'm alone in the world for a time, when I craft my stories. The amount of time can also vary. Inspiration has a big hold on me, so I'll sit at the computer for as long as my muse is talking.

Q: Do you listen to music while writing? If so what?

Yes, I love listening to music while writing. Typically rock music such as Nickelback, Five Finger Death Punch, Apocalyptica etc. Then of course, I need a little Buck Cherry when I'm writing the dirty, sexy scenes. Lol.

Amber: I love your taste in music!

Q: Do you have any suggestions for beginning writers? If so, what are they?

I'd say love what you write. Don't worry about selling your book. Write what you're passionate about. That passion will translate to your characters and a savvy editor will see your gift. Have a website, whether you're published or not. Publishers need to see that you believe in your work. Lastly, never give up. Rejections will happen, and even after you're published you might face some bad reviews. No matter what…believe in yourself and your dreams, and let no one's opinion take your writing career from you.

Q: What was the scariest moment of your life?

Once while out for a sunrise walk, a truck with dark tinted windows followed me to a local park. I stopped at the park, and the truck stopped but no one got out. Thank god for a family that came outside to set up for a yard sale. I headed to their house to ask for help, and the truck sped away. It was a long and scary walk home worried that the truck would reappear.

Q: What do you do to unwind and relax?

Read, read, read. What's better than a book! Wait, I just thought of something better, and it requires a lot less clothes. Uh, maybe we should move on. *giggle*

Q: What would we find under your bed?

Um, not anything naughty or sexual, so really there's no need to look under there. Is it getting warm in here or is it just me? Next question…

Q: Tell us about your next release.

My next release is Love's Demon Ways which will be coming out through Siren publishing. It's a sex-demon novella and possibly my most salacious story yet. It comes out June 2011. I'll be posting an official blurb on my website in the coming month.

That was fun and I managed not to get myself into too much mischief…I think. Lol. Readers, please feel free to check out my website and find out where I'm guest blogging. You don't want to miss a party. Happy Reading!

Camilla Ivanov never dreamed that being kidnapped by a group of vampires would lead to the most erotic sexual encounter of her life. Vladislas is a vampire master bored with life until Camilla’s blood awakens his deepest hungers. Locked together in a basement, who is the true captive?
Vampire bounty hunter Brandt has just betrayed his best friend Camilla to vampires. Vampiress Elisa gives herself to Brandt in payment for awakening her master, Vladislas—but will Brandt take much more than her body from her?
Closing her eyes, she stood naked before him and tilted her head to one side, inner fortitude keeping her still. She sensed his nearness, his arousing scent like that of warm amber. His hand brushed one of her locks of braided vampire fangs back from her face. His thumb caressed her bottom lip before his breath whispered over her mouth.
He smelled so delicious.
The light touch of his lips against her brought her eyes open to watch as he kissed her with the gentlest of brushes. His tongue flicked out to tease the corner of her mouth. Enjoying the skim of his tongue against her lips, she leaned up toward him, her body softening against his.
He leaned down a bit to trail his tongue along a path from her collarbone to her ear. She noticed that he took special care that his fangs didn't once brush her skin. His hands encased her hips as he went down to one knee.

  7. Hi, Tabs!

Thanks for coming by. After checking out Witch's Fire, I think we need to ask what's under your bed. I'm not the one tying the hero to the headboard. Lol.
