Feel Like Quitting

Have you ever had one of those weeks when you just want to throw in the towel? That’s the way I’ve felt this week. Rejection number two came in yesterday. For another 7k short. I kinda expected this as it’s been with the publishing house since Sept 09 with no word. This one the BDSM was too basic. I realize it is the opinion of one editor, but two rejections in one week stings! No matter what the reason. I’m just glad I had a productive day before the rejection came in.
Now I’m just waiting for number three! LOL They say things come in three’s right?
I’ve been tagged for a third time. See there’s that three thingy again. I planned to post it today, but not feeling it. I’m still licking my wounds.
Off to do some writing. I can’t REALLY throw in the towel. I’m a writer after all. It’s in my blood.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hugs. Rejections SUCK. Don't quit, though. We've all been there!

  4. It's okay to take time to lick those wounds. Things will turn around. I know it!

  5. Amber, It's just part of the business. Just had one a couple months ago. I have another ms to submit but I'm afraid to submit it, worried it'll get rejected. :) Need to go through it again ONE MORE TIME before I send it, but I'm working on another project at the moment. Hang in there.

  6. Hugs. I know it's part of the business, but it's the part I hate. I juste finished a revision and sent it back in. That wasn't as bad as a rejection, but not an acceptance, either.

  7. Hi Amber. I frequently read your blog, but rarely comment. I added you to my blog roll so I can stop by more often.

Hugs on the rejections. A friend suggested I keep a file of the positive notes and reviews I've received so I have something to cheer myself up with when necessary. Haven't done that yet, but I intend to. Best of luck with your next submission and I hope those two stories find homes soon.
