What a few days. I thought I was battling a head cold and doing a good job of it, with extra vitamin C and such...nope. Turns out it’s a sinus infection and it won the battle. I’m feeling like crud and working my butt off at the day job. I forgot how much I dislike my job in December. My co-worker takes the entire month off leaving me to handle both our jobs. He swears every year that he’ll take his vacation time throughout the year and every year December arrives and he has to take it all. We have a use it or lose it policy so we must use it.
Tonight I have to work overnight. 2-5am…on top of the normal day shift. Then I have to grab some sleep and head over to my in-laws later in the day to celebrate my MIL’s b-day. I love her dearly and she’s been a huge help with the little one, so I can’t stay home and sleep.
Sunday I’d like to put up our tree and start decorating for Christmas. The neighbors are ahead of us. We’re always the first ones with the lawn decorated. They’re probably wondering what’s going on with us. LOL The DH always does a HUGE display. My oldest daughter used to get embarrassed when she was an unruly teen, now she loves it. The middle daughter loves helping set everything up. Score one for me, because I hate being out in the cold.
Nano came and went. My grand total – 13.4k. I’m thrilled I managed any writing.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Well, I didn't participate in NaNo this month, but I kind of feel like I do the same kind of pressure writing every month, so it doesn't actually apply.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I had some time open up because I got way ahead of schedule, and I've spent several days just taking my time. Nice feeling. :)
Ugh. I hated working night shift. I would get to tired I'd dream about which corner I'd curl up in during my break and nap for 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness. You're up at 5 AM? Ugh. Haven't decorated. Didn't write. Hmmmm. What shall I say? I'm a slacker. :-)
ReplyDeleteFeel better. Don't sweat the nano!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot to take on in December with the holidays and everything. Sending you hugs. Take care of you, Amber.
