It's a Beautiful Day for Aspen Mountain Press Authors!
Under clause XIX of my contract,
If Publisher suspends operations for more than sixty (60) continuous days, other than for technical difficulties such as a loss of Web Server, all rights hereunder shall immediately revert to Author.
This clause has now come into effect. I officially have taken back my rights to the following books:
Mistletoe Studs, One Tasty Night, Heat Waves, Talk Dirty to Topaz, Wild Lickins, Sliding Home, and Naughty St. Nick.
Congrats to all AMP authors

He thought he’d seen something earlier. A spark in Rick’s gray eyes. He couldn’t have imagined it, could he? Again, when he’d rubbed up against him while they were playing pool, he saw the look.
It was desire.
Then Rick had stormed off to the bar for another drink. Was he afraid of hanging around and letting Alex see his raging hard-on?
Too late.
Alex had noticed it and got hard instantaneously. He was so hard he’d thought about going into the bathroom and rubbing himself until he felt relieved. Somehow, he knew relief wouldn’t come from masturbation so he decided against it.
Besides how would he explain his long absence?

It was like he was afraid of what would happen if he stayed too long. Could he be wrestling with the same feelings Alex was? He wasn’t sure, but he didn’t want to act on it just yet. If his friend did have feelings for him, he wanted to address it before he had to leave.
Knowing Rick was waiting for him would make his transition much easier.
Alex wondered if he should go into Rick’s room and see if he was still awake. If he was, they could talk about what had happened. Worry settled into the pit of his stomach. What if Rick did feel something, but refused to act on it? What if he rejected Alex?
Alex couldn’t handle being rejected by his best friend. He cared for him too much. He didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had by stepping over any lines. No, it was best for him to stay put on the couch. If Rick wanted him, he would have to be the one to make the first move. That way, Alex wouldn’t be treading into uncertain waters.
Disappointed, but satisfied with his decision, Alex closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on anything other than his aching balls.
An hour later he was still struggling with the tightness in his crotch. He thought about relieving himself numerous times but was afraid of Rick walking in on him or worse—overhearing his moans.
Unable to fight the urge, Alex jumped off the couch and headed toward Rick’s bedroom.
“Fuck it.” He had nothing to lose at this point— except his friendship with Rick.

Sliding Home
Came out on Friday and my publisher is putting it up on all the third party vendor sites. That's cool, except I ran into a little issue this morning.
I was over at Cyberread and noticed Sliding Home was available there. I clicked on it and imagine my surprise when I discovered it was rated 94 times. Pretty damn good for a book that's only been out 5 days. WOW, I'm doing something right. LOL
I immediately realized it had to be a mistake. None of my books have been reviewed that many times...not even combined. So I start looking at the reviews.
Yikes - they're for someone named Kate Angell. Her book Sliding Home is part of a series and contains a Hero and Heroine.
Ummm, mine is M/M and not currently part of a series. Not sure how to handle this one or if it's a good or bad thing. Wouldn't want to piss people off who were expecting an installment in a M/F series.

“You’re out!” the umpire shouted.
Rick ran toward the infield, watching Alex as he ran from home plate to the pitcher. Alex lifted Pete off the ground in a bear hug.
They’d done it. They’d really done it. They’d won the game, landing them a spot in the playoffs.
Rick continued to watch his best friend. His excitement was overwhelming. Rick was excited for him too. This was his time to shine. The big leagues were already eyeing him for a spot on their roster. He was about to make the majors. It was everyone’s dream, but Alex wanted it more than anyone he’d ever met.
Alex had something to prove to himself and to his father.
“Hey man, congrats.” Rick extended his hand.
Alex accepted his hand and pulled him into a hug.
“Thanks dude. I can’t believe we did it.”
“Before long we’ll be watching you on television.” As happy as he was for his best friend it saddened him to know that they might not buddy around as much as they used to.
“I hope we see more than that of each other.” Alex slapped Rick on the ass.

I’m busy putting the final touches on my cougar story, should have this in my editors hands by Friday.
I received another contract last week or the week before for book 2 in the Freedom Fantasies series – Spend The Night With Me. Book 3 – Play With Me is with my editor.
I have an editor interested in my work. One I’ve never written for. It’s a publishing house I’ve wanted to get my foot in the door though. I sent her a short blurb of the story I’m going to write for her and she seemed genuinely excited. It’s a M/M/F – tentatively titled Stranded. I’m really excited about writing this book and promised it to her by July 1st. Please keep me in your thoughts that I can finish this project and get it in her hands. I set the deadline so I didn’t procrastinate, like I’m very good at doing.
My editor at AMP is interested in reading my romantic comedy. So, I’m working on edits to submit that one to her. Oh and I have a new release coming Friday June 4th. I haven’t received my cover art yet and I’m growing nervous with only two days left. But I know Tuesday will do an awesome job. She always does.

Then Rick had stormed off to the bar for another drink. Was he afraid of hanging around and letting Alex see his raging hard-on?
Too late.

Knowing Rick was waiting for him would make his transition much easier.
Alex wondered if he should go into Rick’s room and see if he was still awake. If he was, they could talk about what had happened. Worry settled into the pit of his stomach. What if Rick did feel something, but refused to act on it? What if he rejected Alex?
Alex couldn’t handle being rejected by his best friend. He cared for him too much. He didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had by stepping over any lines. No, it was best for him to stay put on the couch. If Rick wanted him, he would have to be the one to make the first move. That way, Alex wouldn’t be treading into uncertain waters.
Disappointed, but satisfied with his decision, Alex closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on anything other than his aching balls.
An hour later he was still struggling with the tightness in his crotch. He thought about relieving himself numerous times but was afraid of Rick walking in on him or worse—overhearing his moans.
Unable to fight the urge, Alex jumped off the couch and headed toward Rick’s bedroom.

Bogged Down
I hate to use this excuse, but the simple fact is – it’s the truth.
I just finished edits for Sliding Home which is coming from Aspen Mountain on June 4th. I’m in the middle of the cover art request. I have to write TWO synopses. I don’t like writing these!
I’m in the middle of writing my cougar story and still trying to finish up self-edits on book three to send off to my editor. I’m barely coming up for air these days.
I’d like to say sorry to everyone for not posting enough lately. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t been making the rounds too much either. I’ll get back to commenting when life gets a little simpler.
The cold weather has returned to the northeast and I’m not happy. Add in the day job which has picked up…no wonder I’ve had a migraine for three days.

And We're Off...
I’m happy to announce I signed another contract this week. My second M/M – Sliding Home has found a home at Aspen Mountain Press. It will be released on June 4th.
In a few short hours my friend will pick me up and we’re headed off to the NEC Conference. Hope everyone has a fun filled weekend. I know I plan to!

Rejection and AOL Suck
Actually this rejection didn’t suck as much as I thought it would. My editor said the characters were under developed. I don’t know she’s probably right. It’s a short 7k, so they probably are. I’ll look at it sometime in the future when I have more time. I’m sure if I add to it and further develop the characters I can submit it to another editor. I’m not sure I was really “feeling” the story at the time. I wrote it during a dark period in my life. Oh well…
Now AOL on the other hand is driving me nuts. Seems if you have urls in your email they don’t want to deliver them. So, I’ve missed NUMEROUS emails – some very important. Like the rejection. :O) Who knows what else I’ve missed. I hope they get their shit together soon or I’ll be moving to a new email.
In other news…with the help of some good friends I’ve narrowed down the titles for my new series. My editor likes one in particular but I’m having reservations about it. We’ll see. The editing for Sliding Home is done. Now I have to write the synopsis and send that in. only one book left to edit.

February’s here! A new month means new beginnings. I ended January on a good note. I submitted another story to my editor on Friday. So on top of the two new contracts I have three other stories out awaiting word.
I managed to write the synopsis for the Cougar Challenge. I’m going to tweak it a bit before submitting it for the others to check out. I’m always nervous when writing a synopsis. I loathe them. I’m better off just writing the darn story, but I want to make sure it fits what they’re looking for.
I’m busy working on Sliding Home an M/M story about a couple of baseball players. I’m enjoying writing this story, so it should go quickly. :o)
