Across the Beer Bar with Helena, Dustin and Erik
Liz: Welcome guys, what can I pour for you?
Erik Aldrich leans over and gives Liz a deep blue stare.
Erik: Don’t know Liz. Why don’t you pour me your favorite from your brewer?
Liz tires not to drool, and pours him a Classic American Pilsner.
Dustin rolls his eyes, puts his arm around Helena.
Dustin: Suck up. I’ll have that Gulo Gulo—an India Pale Lager eh? Does that even exist?
Helena elbows him.
Helena: Obviously it does Prufrock, unless you’re blind. It’s right up there. Jesus. I’ll have a Wolverine Amber please.
Liz pours the beers and one for herself.
Liz: So, guys, how are things at Prufrock these days?
Dustin: Better now, thanks to these two. Hey, this is an amazing brew. How do you do this?
Liz: Like I’m going to tell you? I heard you guys were expanding again. Congratulations. Are you going to be selling beer outside of Michigan?
Helena: He’s right, these beers are incredible. Yes, we are headed into the crowded waters of greater Chicago first. I’ve got to hire some locally based sales guys out there.
Erik: Damn….(he pushes his empty glass across the bar) More please?
Liz tries once again not to stare too obviously at his tall, blond perfection.
Dustin: Dude, we need this beer. (he lifts his half empty glass of pale hoppy lager and holds it to the light). You filter it right?
Liz (sighs): Stop asking me that. I’m not telling you anything. And so the three of you…..everything good?
Dustin puts his arm back around the tall beautiful Helena and whispers in her ear.
Helena: Yeah (she blushes and tucks her hair back before finishing her beer). We’re working through it together. (she reaches to her left and Erik takes her hand and puts it to his lips)
Liz: Listen, Helena you have got it so good I’m trying hard not to be insanely jealous. But these two guys are pretty alpha. How can you stand it?
Erik finishes his second beer and laughs so hard he gets the hiccups.
Helena glares at him.
Erik: We know who’s really in charge. That’s how it works.
Dustin: We do indeed.
He looks over Helena’s head and winks at the other man. Liz tries not to melt at the smoldering look Erik gives back to the tall, dark and painfully handsome Dustin.
Helena elbows them both.
Helena: Anyway, Liz. We want to thank you for everything. We (she takes the hands of the men on either side of her) have a long way to go but regardless of who’s in charge, I know I love both of these guys. You know, when I don’t want to murder them with a rusty screwdriver.
Dustin: Ouch. (he puts Helena’s other hand to his lips.)
Erik pushes the three empty glasses back across the bar to Liz.
Erik: We need another….
Liz: anything for you guys. Thanks for coming by! Cheers!

When wealthy brewery owner Dustin Prufrock meets sexy saleswoman Helena Turner, sparks fly—angry sparks. They seem destined to do nothing but clash, until a hot hook-up in a cold beer cooler changes everything.
For Dustin, it’s a life-changing moment and one that sets him on a path away from his birthright. Helena is forced to face her fears about committing to a man considered the playboy of the micro brewing world. The power of pre-conceived notions nearly tears them apart, until they meet up with Erik, Dustin’s old friend from the brewing institute in Munich, who provides them with an erotic and emotional connection that completes them all.
But fate has different plans, and Dustin is forced to take responsibility for his old life as heir to a large business. While he slips back into his expected role, Helena and Erik are thrown together in an attempt to run Dustin’s brewery without him. But the strength and trust of their once-balanced threesome has been shattered, and mutual lust might not be enough to keep them all together.

Bio: Microbrewery owner, best-selling author, beer blogger and journalist, mom of three teenagers, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great middle west, in a Major College Town. Years of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as an ex-pat trailing spouse plus making her way in a world of men (i.e. the beer industry) has prepped her for life as erotic romance author. When she isn't sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, she can be found writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.
Otherwise, look for her doing pounds of laundry for her athletic children, watching La Liga on the Fox Soccer Channel, or trying to figure out what to order in for dinner. Liz loves her Foo Fighters Pandora station, and watching reruns of Deadwood, when there isn't any decent sports on (like during “golf season”). Her beer blog a2beerwench.com is nationally recognized for its insider yet outsider views on the craft beer industry. Her books are set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch and in high powered real estate offices. Don’t ask her for anything “like” a Budweiser or risk painful injury.
