Appreciating Life

I woke this morning and realized half of November is over. I remember as a child my mother and grandmother saying time flies when you get older. Damn if they weren’t right. I’ve been so busy time seems to be slipping away. Granted things will start to settle down for a brief time, it’s still going by at lightning speed.
I’ve decided to slow down and smell the roses, even if my day job is demanding me to put in seventy hours. I refuse to stress about getting the job done and in a timely manner. I’m one person and can only do so much. Today and the days ahead I’m going to appreciate all those things I’m thankful for. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for the job, it’s just not the most important thing in my life.
Life is good…no life is great! J

TGIF

It’s Friday and I can’t be happier. It’s been a busy week at work and I need the three days off to get caught up on some writing.
The stress is coming out in my dreams. Last night I had a dream the DH and I were in bed SLEEPING. It was morning and Brian Austin Green jumped in between us. I immediately jumped out and panicked because in my dream I couldn’t have sex. Also the DH climbed out because he was sick and didn’t want to infect anyone. I know for certain the idea of being with a man doesn’t appeal to him.
Why am I dreaming of a threesome? It’s not my sexual preference and then why with an actor? Not my thing either. That’s just one example of my crazy dreams lately.
Whenever I share them with my DH or kids they just shake their heads. I’m sure they’re thinking WTF. I’m thinking it too! Most are creepy and scary. I’m to the point where I don’t want to sleep. My dreams are freakin’ me out.
Why am I sharing this? I have no idea. LOL Maybe someone will have some insight to why I’m having these dreams.
My editor returned All or Nothing asking for a few SMALL alterations before she sends it off to the powers that be. All were in the first ten pages, so I sent back bright and early.
Now I need to finish Love Revisited. UGH! I wish I could clone myself.
Have a great weekend!

Stress!

Stress can wreak havoc on your life. I’ve been stressing the last five or six days. Rumors are running rampant through my work that layoffs are going to occur right before Christmas. The worst part is they are laying off a HUGE portion of US employees. We are going to be replaced by people overseas.
I have an issue with this. If a company has headquarters in the US they should employee over fifty percent of their personnel with US citizens. I understand labor is cheaper in other countries, but seriously folks. Our country has been in economic crisis for way too long. I wish the government, for all they’re worth, would penalize these companies. Make them move their headquarters overseas if they don’t want to support the people in their country. These companies make billions every year off cheap labor.
Sorry, enough of my rant. Back to the subject of stress. Yesterday I made a HUGE writer snafu. I decided it was time to get my non-fiction writing back on track to bring in more money in the event I’m out of work next month. There’s a magazine I’ve been targeting. One I wrote for a few years back, but they stopped using freelancers. Well recently they put out a need for freelancers.
I have a template that I use. Most of it is boilerplate stuff and I adjust to fit the targeted magazine. Anyway, I sent off the letter to the editor. In the sentence stating my interest to write for SAID mag, I had another magazines name. GASP! I basically killed any chances of writing for that magazine in the future.
Today I’m going back to working on my wip. It’s safer.
Happy Tuesday!
