What Day Is It?

I asked my DH this question today. I've been working seven day weeks lately and just dealing with a lot of issues lately. One being a sick dog. My 4yr yellow lab has been sick for over 10 days now. They've run him thru a battery of tests only to come up empty-handed. Last night we brought him back to the animal hospital to be re-admitted. They did another x-ray and thought there might be an obstruction. When another doctor looked over the films this morning she pointed out the shape of a baby bottle nipple. It was shear luck they found it because rubber is invisible on x-rays and ultrasounds.
Turns out he ate my grand daughters pacifier. Damn dog will eat anything that isn't glued down. He had surgery this morning and is recovering nicely. Me, I'm feeling relieved they found the cause. The bill on the other hand is enough to make one double over in pain! Needless to say my three furry friends will be getting pet insurance once this is all said and done. His two brothers are missing him something terrible.

In writing news I'm about 1k away from the end of my current wip Research Required. I'm looking forward to putting this story behind me. I feel like I worked on it all summer. Much too long for me. I have partial outlines of four other stories I want to get to work on. We'll see which character pesters me the most.

I may do more excerpts this week or next. I've seen a nice jump in my numbers on my blogs. Maybe I'll see a spike in sales too. One can dream right!

One Tasty Night

I received a google alert today and it was for this fantastic review for One Tasty Night. How perfect, as today I was going to give you a tasty treat of this book. So, I'll start with the link to the review and below I'll share the blurb and excerpt!

Enjoy and TGIF!

It seems Amber Skyze has a writing ability we would all love to have when it comes to erotic romance. I am so impressed with her writing. She is a very clear, tight (no pun intended) writer. I really enjoy her books and her characters and the worlds they live in.

To read the full review go here:

Blurb:

Taylor Jax has a secret. She fantasizes about seducing long time friend Shane Griffin. Only problem, he’s eight years her junior – too young in her mind.
During a game of truth or dare her secret is exposed. Challenged by her best friends Taylor must go into an adult toy store and buy all the accessories needed to live out her fantasy.
With another night of truth or dare looming, Taylor makes a bold move. Before her friends can dare her, she plans a full-fledge seduction.
Shane has loved Taylor for as long as he can remember. She enters his store in disguise, prompting him to tease her. To his surprise she agrees to have dinner with him. And when she propositions him he wonders - will one night be enough?

Excerpt:

Looking around Taylor noticed she wound up in the vibrator aisle. At least it was something familiar. Every woman owned a vibrator, didn’t they? As she absorbed the different sizes and shapes she wondered how big Shane was. Picking up the icicle dreams she scrunched her nose. Not her style. She liked them to at least look like a penis. She placed it back in its spot.
She snatched a rather large one off the hook, imagining it Shane’s size.
“Hot bunny. Now this is what I’m talking about.”
"Find everything you're looking for?" Shane asked, sneaking up behind her.
His warm breath tickled the back of her neck, sending heat coursing through her overheated body. Her mouth grew dry. Water. She needed water to put out the flames burning her body. "Umm, I think I'm okay," she breathed.
"Are you sure?" he whispered.
She wanted to fall back into his arms. She wanted to give in to her desires and let him do whatever he wanted. “Yes.”
God, she had to get out of there soon or something bad was going to happen.
"You sure you don’t need a hand?" His fingertips traced down her arms and sent shivers through her body.
She wanted to scream Fuck Me! but she fought the urge. "Really, I'm fine. Don't you have other customers to assist?"
"Not at the moment. You're my only customer. And since you're always so good to me I'm going to give you extra special attention.”
Her legs were mush standing this close to him.
“Let me see your list,” he coaxed.
“Shane, I’m fine. Seriously. I'll handle the list."
Shane stepped in front of her. "I know the store from top to bottom. Just like you know Tasty Taylor’s. Let me help, please."
Those captivating cerulean eyes pulled her into a trance. They begged her to just give in this one time. She wouldn't. She couldn't.
"No.”
"Come on," he pleaded. Before she could respond, he snatched the paper from her hands and looked it over. "Oh, this will be a cinch."
"Give that to me," she demanded, her hand held out impatiently.
He shoved the paper into his pants. "If you want it, come and get it."
Taylor stood there dumbfounded. Had he really just stuck her list down his pants?
What the hell was she going to do now? Certainly she couldn’t put her hands down his pants and grab it could she? Serve him right if she did. Wonder if he’d be standing there looking so smug if she reached in and took her paper.
If she did she could find out just how big he was. Oh, the would girls enjoy that conversation.
“You seriously don’t want me to come and get it, do you?” She gave him one last chance to change his mind.
“Don’t I?” He turned and walked away.
Challenging her was a big mistake on his part.

Rein Me In

Today is the third day of my shameless self-promo. I realized that every time I've done promo on Rein Me In, I've only given the blurbs. There are three other great authors in this anthology and they deserve their props, but today I'm going to *finally* post an excerpt from my story. What a concept, huh?

Hope you enjoy!

Blurb:
Delia is happy being a stay-at-home wife, spending her husband's money. Only problem? Scott doesn't share her enthusiasm. Yes, he wants his wife to enjoy the finer things in life, but he wants her to stay within a budget.

Delia can't stick to a budget.

To teach her a lesson, Scott paddles her.

Who knew getting spanked could be so arousing? Not Delia, but now that Scott's
turned her on, she wants more. In fact, she might go over her limit just to feel the
heightened orgasms.

Can Scott rein her in before they both end up in the poorhouse?

Excerpt:
“Delia!” Scott’s voice reverberated through the house.

Delia paced the bedroom carpet in her silk pantyhose-covered feet and wrung her
hands. The tone in her husband’s voice confirmed he’d seen the pile of bills. He’d just
gotten home from work, and she imagined he’d tossed his briefcase on the kitchen table
and glanced through the junk mail until he found the credit card statement—the one
she stuck at the bottom of the pile in the hope he’d give up midway through. No such
luck.

She pictured him tearing it open with a need to know if she’d gone over her
monthly limit yet again. He’d scan the statement looking for the new charges, and upon
discovering what she’d purchased, hit the roof.

His voice echoed through the house. “Delia!”

“In the bedroom,” she called out. She couldn’t hide. The bedroom was his next stop
after reading the mail.

When his heavy footsteps hit the stairs, Delia held her breath. What was he going to
do? He warned her not to overspend again, told her she wouldn’t like the consequences
if she did. And she had.

She couldn’t help it. She liked to shop. She liked having new clothes, purses and
shoes. Never mind the music and workout equipment she bought to keep the trim body
he loved so much.

He appeared in the doorway looking dishevelled. His tie hung loose and the top
button of his crisp white shirt was undone. His trench coat hung off one shoulder. His
blond hair was a mess. He’d been raking his fingers through it. His dark eyes flared,
trumpeting his fury. She recognized the look and it boded trouble.

“Hi,” she said.

“What did I tell you about going over your limit?” he demanded. He seemed
almost saddened by her lack of control.

She stifled the urge to roll her eyes and bite back the smartass remark. The situation
didn’t call for sarcasm. “I’m sorry?” Even to her, the apology sounded weak.

“That’s what you said last month and the month before. How many times will I
hear I’m sorry? Why can’t you stay within budget so you don’t have anything to be
sorry for?”

“I tried, Scott, really I did. I wanted to work out at home rather than the gym so I
bought the equipment.” She lowered her eyes. “I thought you’d want me to exercise at
home, away from all the young men’s prying eyes.”

“Don’t give me that crap,” he roared. He walked to his closet, swung open the
double doors, and hung up his coat.

“It’s not crap; I do want to exercise at home.”

“Okay, but what about the other charges from the shoe store you love so much or
the various clothing stores. What’s your excuse for those?”

She didn’t have one. Just boredom. With all the free time she had on her hands she
used it shopping. Scott had told her she should find a hobby and she had—shopping.

“Well, Delia, aren’t you going to come up with an excuse?”

She shook her head.

He laughed and pulled the tie from his neck. “Nothing to say? This is a first.”

She shrugged.

“So you’re going to play the quiet mouse game today. You won’t be quiet for long.”

“Why not?” The conversation wasn’t going well. Would he take away her charge
cards, make her stay home every day? The look in his dark brown eyes told her trouble
was on the horizon. Would he leave her for overspending?

He rubbed his face with his hands and sat on the edge of the bed. She wanted to
reach out to him, reassure him she wouldn’t overcharge again. She’d promise, beg, and
plead, whatever it took to keep him in her life. She didn’t want him to leave. She could
handle anything―anything but him leaving. She loved him. Always had and always
would.

“Over my lap,” he said with a ring of finality.

She backed away from the bed. “Excuse me?”

“Delia, I’m not going to say it again. Over my lap, now!”

“Why?” she whispered.

“I’ll show you why.”

Shameless Self Promo Day 2

Today I'm sharing a tidbit from Mistletoe Studs. With the holidays just around the corner (ack!) I'm not a winter person, though I live in the northeast, this story will warm you up on a cold winter's night!

Blurb:
Meg Trainor has one wish for Christmas every year: Two men who will fulfill all her fantasies. Santa's in a giving mood this year. Brothers and co-owners of Turquoise Toys, Brad and Shane Griffin will give her a Christmas she'll never forget.

Excerpt:
Meg couldn’t believe her eyes. These were not the toys she had imagined. She thought he was talking about children’s toys. These were not intended for children. These were adult toys in every sense of the word. There were floggers, paddles, butt plugs, ball gags, straps with dildos attached and handcuffs—all Turquoise, explaining the name. Meg wasn’t naive about the BDSM world. When she realized her desire to submit she wanted to know the who, what, where and why. She read everything she could about the subject. She knew enough about it to understand.

She’d even bought a few toys to experiment with. Like the ping pong paddle she’d purchased when she was curious to know what it felt like to be spanked. It wasn’t something she did regularly but when she was in the mood for a good orgasm she’d slap her cheeks a few times before using her favorite vibrator. She never had dated a man who was actually part of that world.

Brad was gay so he wouldn’t be offering. What a shame because she could see them having fun together!

Could he be carrying a bagful of goodies? Maybe Santa was going to be extra special to her this year.

Please Santa I’ve been a good girl all year long. Please tell me you sent Brad with something extra special for my stocking this year.

Halfway though the job, Meg decided it was time to go back to her stranger. He’d been out there long enough. By now, he knew she was aware of his secret.

Turning she ran smack into his broad chest again. “We really need to stop meeting like this.” Clearing her throat, she took a step back only to come against the copier. “I was just coming out to see you.”

He stepped closer, closing the small gap between them. “How are you doing?” His voice dripped with desire.

“Fantastic. Your copies are just about done.”

Damn she wished he’d step back. He was much too close. He turned her on.

“Are you sure?” He traced his finger along her cheek.

She gulped, her body overheating.

He bent closer, taking her lips. He kissed her slowly. She melted against him; her arms snaked around his neck. He touched her breast, causing a moan to escape her lips. His bulge brushed against her. He wanted her.

While he kissed her, his fingers unzipped the back of her dress then unsnapped her bra. He pushed the garments down around her waist, exposing her breasts.

His mouth covered her nipple, sucking until it puckered. God his mouth felt good. How long had it been since a man had his mouth on her? Too long. Lisa was right; she needed to get laid, but not by Kenny.

When Brad moved to the other breast she thought for sure she was going to crumble to the floor. Her hands gripped the edges of the copier to steady herself.

“I’m going to fuck you Meg, right now.

Shameless Self Promo Week

Today kicks off a week long look at my books currently available and maybe some wips too.

I'm blogging over at the Goddesses of Storytelling (actually self-promoting there too) today. So I'm starting off with Splashing Good Time, an Ellora's Cave release. This book was released in April 09 and is available at: http://www.jasminejade.com/ for less than $3

Look for Body Shots Dec 15th and Ignited, an Erotika coming soon from Ellora's Cave! :)

Blurb:
Reece Collins is growing tired of her Wednesday rituals of masturbating to the sight of the so called “pool boy” and her battery operated friend is leaving her unsatisfied. She craves a no-strings-attached torrid sexual encounter. Problem? The only one offering is ten years her junior.

Nathan Donovan ha s lusted over his client forever. When he happens upon her in a very compromising position, his desires swell, as he plunges head first into the deep end to save her. One brief encounter leaves him yearning for more, but when she splashes cold water on his plans, will he walk away or spank some sense into her?

Excerpt:
“You look hot!” she told her reflection. “Irresistibly hot?” Only time would tell. Strolling over to the window she dared a peak outside. He wasn’t here yet. Would he come? Certainly Steve sounded convincing enough. The fifty dollar bill she planted in his palm was enough encouragement to make an actor out of him. She stood by his side while he made the call. If she hadn’t known better, she would have believed him. She sent him on his way after the call. No need for him to stick around for the fireworks—hopefully of a sexual nature.
The undeniable sound of tires crunching on gravel alerted her Nathan was here. And from the hurried sound of the truck coming to a stop, he wasn’t pleased. Silently she prayed her idea wouldn’t backfire. Hurrying from the room s he descended the stairs, hoping to greet him at the pool.
“What the fuck!” she heard him scream.
Too late. She wasn’t quick enough. Nathan knew and he wasn’t happy. Reese slowly opened the door and walked casually over to the pool where Nathan stood looking at the water, obviously trying to figure out where the emergency was.
Whipping around he demanded, “What s going on here?”
Lost for words Reese stood frozen in her spot. She hadn’t expected such anger. Yes, she tricked him into coming over. Maybe having Steve tell him the pool had turned an ugly color green that he couldn’t get rid of was a bad idea but she believed he’d be happy to see her. Boy was she mistaken.
“I-I-I put Steve up to it,” she confessed. “I didn’t think you would see me any other way.”
“Maybe if you picked up the phone you would have found out.” The disgust in his voice was evident.
He was pissed at her. Her plan was slowly crumbling before her eyes. She couldn’t risk losing him a second time. He couldn’t walk away out of her life. She loved him. God help her she loved him more than any man she’d ever loved in her life.
“Would you have come if I had ?” she challenged.
Looking away he shrugged.
“Then I was right to do what I did. I needed to see you, Nathan. You’ve been avoiding me. I’ve missed you.”
She watched him looking at the water. Was he searching for answers? Maybe there was hope for them after all.
Closing the gap between them, she touched his hand. “Please Nathan, look at me.”
He did as she asked and immediately her heart sank. Pain, deep pain, filled his eyes. Gone was the sparkle she loved so much, replaced with pain that cut to the core. Pain caused by her foolishness.
Touching his face she whispered, “I’m sorry.”
“What’s done is done.” He tried pulling free but she refused to let him walk away.
“I never meant to hurt you.”
“I’m fine.”
“I wasn’t trying to compare you to Vince. It may have sounded that way at the time and I’m sorry. I love you for who you are, not because you’ve proven him wrong. It doesn’t matter to me what Vince thinks, or anyone else for that matter. The only thing that matters is what’s in here,” sh e said pointing to her heart. “And here.”She placed her hand over his heart.
She felt his heart beating rapidly through his tight black t-shirt. He covered her hand with his.
“Do you honestly believe you’ll be okay with what others think about us? Because as you’ve pointed out before I’m much younger than you.”

TGIF!

I made it to Friday! I'm feeling much better. Luckily I don't have to work this weekend, but I do have softball games. Four to be exact. Also this is the week of my chapter's meeting. Looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer break.

I did get some writing done this week. My hero and heroine are officially in bed. They currently in the midst of foreplay waiting for me to return. They should be more than ready to do the deed when I return! :)

Next week is going to be all about promotion on my blog. I haven't been doing much promotion and it's time I got my butt in gear. So everyday I'm going to post an excerpt from each of my books. I may even treat you to some wips! No not whips! Unless of course you're into that.

Off to promote on the loops. Have a great weekend! Happy writing.

Sick

I woke up yesterday with a terrible sinus infection. I spent the day in bed, which after the weekend I had I deserved! I took the day off from the day job to finish edits on Heat Waves. I'm halfway thru. I keep taking short naps. If you care to see how insane my weekend was, I blogged about it over at: http://sevensexyscribes.blogspot.com

Otherwise have an awesome day. I'm going to try to recover.

Friendships Come and Friendships Go

A few months back I read on someones blog (sorry I can't remember who or I'd give you credit) that friendships seem to fade every seven years. I remember thinking how crazy that is. I've had a couple of friends for 20+ years.
Then it happened to me. Two friendships I thought would last forever have slowly fizzled out over the last couple of months. I'm not sure what they're feeling, but I can tell you that I've outgrown their friendship. Yes, that sounds harsh. I just can't explain it, but I have no desire to deal with their drama. One is narcissistic and the other is well a fair-weathered friend.
I've made many new friends in the writing world. I belong to a wonderful writer's group locally. This people understand me. They understand the solitude that comes along with writing.
It's a shame really that these friendships have faded, but such is life.

Today I'm working hard on Heat Waves. Editor was growing a bit worried about me. I've never held on to edits for longer than a day or two. I'll get them back to her later today and then I'll be free to enjoy this long weekend. Maybe I'll take Tuesday off as a mental health day. I might need it after the testing is over in the morning.

Happy Labor Day everyone. Have a safe weekend!

Need a Drink

Feeling a little better today. Accomplished a lot yesterday and this morning. This afternoon I'll begin to tackle the edits. That's all I have left.
I'm cleaning little by little for B's b-day party Sunday. I'm glad it's a three day weekend. I feel like I haven't stopped running for over two weeks.
Softball started up again. Fall Ball. This lasts until October. And if I'm correct Basketball will start in November. But she must stay active or she'll drive me nuts. She is a child that can not handle boredom. Thankfully she likes sports.

Back to the daily grind!

In a Funk

Today we must start off with a hottie!

My baby started junior high today. She was so nervous. I doubt she slept much last night. I know her mother didn't. lol I got up bright and early (4am). I had cinnamon buns ready for when she woke up. She loves them, so I thought a little comfort food would help. It always does for me. At 7am she walked up the road to the bus stop. All her friends are nervous so she'll find comfort with them. The good thing is the 8th graders don't start until tomorrow. Gives the 7th graders time to acclimate themselves to their new school.

Yesterday I accomplished a lot of work. Still have a cover art form to fill out and finish edits on Heat Waves. The day job will definitely get in the way today. Wednesdays are my extremely busy days.
I'm hoping to get back to Research Required by the weekend. Not much left to write - 3-5k at the most. I miss writing. :(
I'm in a funk and don't know how to get myself out. What do you do to pull yourself out?
