Off for the weekend!

Off to Salem MA this weekend, along with 250 other family members and the timing couldn’t be better. Last night the DH, my youngest and I were at Best Buy looking at netbooks (my b-day is this weekend and DH needed ideas.) :0) Anyway, so all of a sudden my left wrist started hurting like crazy. I did have pain in it earlier in the day, but nothing that made me stop or wince.
I felt around where the pain was and noticed a small lump…so because we’re going away the DH thought it was a good idea to have it checked out. Off to the walk-in clinic. 30 mins later they decided it was bruised. Now mind you she didn’t want to do an x-ray, probably because they were in a hurry to go home. She bandaged it and said if I have any issues over the next three days come back for an x-ray. Yeah, I’m not feeling the love from that clinic. I’ll go see another doctor. I’d go see mine, but he decided to move out of state, so I don’t have one at the moment.
She told me limited use for at least three days. Shhh, don’t tell her I’m typing this. lol The wrist still hurts like a SOB.
Nano isn’t going as good as I’d hoped but I plan to resume intense writing next week. I’d like to sneak some in over the weekend, but 5 of us are sharing a two bedroom suite. I don’t think they’ll appreciate me getting up at 4am to make coffee and type away. Hopefully the time away will replenish my creative well as it seems to have run dry at the moment.

I’m still celebrating Valentine’s Day with the DH. He’s off today, so we’re going shopping and having dinner out again. We had a wonderful weekend in NY. It was nice to wake up in a hotel, with no dogs, no kids and peace and quiet. Visiting with my family was fun too. One of my cousins just moved back home so seeing him after three years was really nice.
We got back into town in time for the early dinner reservations he made. Dinner was delicious and the restaurant owner gave out a single rose to all the women. I thought that was nice personal touch. The restaurant is a family owned Italian place. The food is to die for.
I’m thinking of going back to NY tomorrow for a few days to see friends I didn’t get a chance to see and visit more with my family. I return to work next week. I can’t believe I’ve been out for almost 10 weeks (I was on vacation for the first two weeks). I go to the doctor’s today and I’m sure they’re going to release me. It’s not like my job is strenuous. It is stressful and does require me to spend many hours in front of the computer, but I do that anyway! LOL

Titles

I've been pleased thus far with not having to change any of my titles. So when my editor explained that Cabin Fever had to be changed it threw me for a loop. I totally understand her reasons, but my mind went blank. That's what happens when I feel pressured. lol I racked my brain for anything I could pull from the story - nothing. The only thing from the story I could possible use was Mustang Love. Don't think she liked it that much and she shouldn't. Still waiting to hear if we can use the new title. I'm also assuming that since I'm working so hard on a title for a story that hasn't been contracted, one must be coming with the title change. Let's just say if I'm doing this for nothing, I won't be a happy camper! :o)

I wrote this morning. Only two pages, but it was more than I had yesterday. Today is a busy day. L has a dental and doctors appointment back-to-back. Originally they were a few hours apart, but she got an invite for a fun day of swimming, go-carts and a baseball game to end the day. Being a good mom I found a way to rearrange the dentist appt.

I have my own agenda for that too. It gives me an hour of waiting while she has a physical and cleaning, oh and lets not forget the shots. Waiting means time for editing. Woo Hoo.

Off to get ready to bring her to her appointments. Hope you enjoy this lovely day!

Trying to get thru the day

Went to the doctor's today. Was poked, prodded and just tortured. Currently all the tests are inconclusive. I'll have to return in two weeks for more testing. My fate is still undetermined. Frustrating to say the least when a doctor can't give you all the answers you need. So we wait. Did I tell you I'm not a patient person?



On the writing front, one of my editors will not move forward with offering me a contract until I change the title. It seems Cabin Fever has been used in the past. So I've given her one list which she didn't like. I'm in the midst of creating a second list, hoping she likes one of them.
