Special Guest - Whitley Gray

1)    Has someone been instrumental in inspiring you as a writer? Josh Lanyon. I admire his writing voice and productivity. I’d love to be as good as he is some day.
2) What is the hardest part of writing your books?
Getting quiet time alone to write. I hate interruptions, as I’m the sort of writer that has to get in the zone and stay immersed. When I’m constantly interrupted, the writing goes poorly.
3) Where do you research for your books?
Mostly online, and site visits if necessary. I try to restrict setting to places I’ve been, or to places where I can access someone who has lived/worked there. I also use a component of “write what you know” which helps a lot.
4) Who are your books published with?
Loose Id, MLR Press, Redhot Publishing.
5) What do you think makes a good story?
Interesting characters and a plot that doesn’t quit. I like a lot of action in the plot to keep the characters busy. There’s romance, but there’s also suspense in there.
6) What book are you reading now?
Just started Dead in LA by Lou Harper.
7) What are your favorite TV shows?
A friend got me to try The Walking Dead earlier this summer, and I loved it! Now I’m waiting for the next season, just like all the other TWD junkies!
8) What songs are most played on your Ipod?
Right now, Eli Lieb’s Young Love, and his version of Radioactive. I love his voice. New add is The Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
9) Do you have any suggestions for beginning writers? If so, what are they?
Before you even start, get into some online classes and learn the craft. It’ll save you a lot of trial and error, and ultimately heartache.
10) Tell us about your favorite fan letter you have received.
A gal that read one of my stories and loved it—the story, the characters, all of it. She asked for career advice, which was flattering but also a bit nerve-wracking.

Blurb
Denver homicide cop and shooting survivor Beck Stryker lives to solve the case that left him with PTSD, chronic pain, and killed his co-investigator four months previous. Now his career hinges on his ability to work with the man who shut down his advances two years ago.

After last parting ways with Beck, psychiatrist-turned-FBI profiler Zach Littman never anticipated seeing the detective again. Being sent to Denver to work on a series of killings that have continued after the only suspect died is bad enough. Discovering the detective in charge is Beck leaves Zach gritting his teeth and girding his loins.

The last thing either of them needs is romantic entanglement with a fellow investigator, but danger is a powerful aphrodisiac. The case heats up, and friction between them ignites a fire neither can ignore, first at work and then in the bedroom. As they zero in on the plot behind the murders, the crosshairs zero in on Beck and Zach.
Excerpt
Beck reached his desk and lowered himself into the chair. A pile of reports sat waiting for his attention. Ridiculous. He was a homicide detective, not a secretary. This was a waste of his skills. Field cases waited, infinitely more interesting and requiring a detective’s intuition.

Across the room, Van met his gaze and looked away. Beck spun his chair toward the windows behind him. Sheets of water rippled down the windows, blurring the building across the street.

After the shooting, Beck’s ex-lover had made it clear as still water that there was nothing left between them. At least Van had understood the pressures of the job, the danger, both on the street and in the department. Homicide was a macho division, and the other detectives were unlikely to accept an alternate orientation. He and Van had agreed to keep their relationship under wraps. Had they had a relationship or just been fuck buddies?

Nights in a soft bed, Van’s hot tongue everywhere until Beck squirmed with need. A firm grip on his cock, stroking.

What would you like tonight?

Heat rushed to his groin. Mind-blowing sex—no doubt about that—but was that all they’d had?

They’d never eaten at a restaurant unless it was out of town. They’d never taken a vacation together. Van liked sun and sand and room service; Beck preferred snow and skiing and grilled steaks at the lodge. And they never stayed over at each other’s places.

Sure didn’t sound like a relationship. Hell, when he’d been lying in the hospital with his shattered shoulder pinned together, wondering if his hand would ever work again, he’d turned to Van expecting emotional support, and his lover had gunned down the only thing Beck had left.

Van had left nothing at Beck’s apartment except travel brochures.

The first time Beck had risked his heart, and he’d gotten blown away for his trouble. Staying secreted in the closet precluded Van paying attention to a disabled boyfriend. “It would look strange if I spent extra time with you,” Van had said, and he’d been careful not to visit more often than any of the others. At that point, Beck had wished his injuries had been more severe, that the bullet had hit a few inches to the right and down, preempting Van’s assault on Beck’s heart. Death had sounded better than total bereavement.

Anger had overtaken depression in short order. The first thing he’d done after arriving home was deep-six the tropical-vacation brochures littering the kitchen counter.

In the ensuing weeks, Beck had fought through the pain of physical therapy and the loss of the relationship.

As Beck’s psychologist, Jay had helped him work through most of that. And the painful inquiry about the shootings.

“Hey.” Soft brown eyes gazed down at him, wary, not welcoming. The familiar scent of Van’s bay rum aftershave reached Beck, and his stomach clenched.

“Well. What can I do for you, Detective Gates?”

Van plopped a folder on his desk. “Got a computer request that needs your expertise.”

“Don’t think I can help you.” Beck picked up a pen, tapped it on the folder. “I’m not a computer expert.”

Van’s full mouth thinned, lips pressed together. “It’s a search for vehicle license plates. Need it for the murder book.”

Blurb:

On the verge of their tenth anniversary, Cole is planning a surprise gift aboard a boat for his wife Avery. Bathing suits are optional - preferably left behind. The only other thing they need to make this weekend perfect? Owen their next door neighbor.

Out on the open sea, Avery will find herself tied to the rails being tortured in the sweetest ways imaginable. The men take her to delicious heights, only to leave her hanging - if only momentarily. When she demands an orgasm she oversteps the boundaries Cole and Owen have but in place. The two men spank her back into submission. There's nothing like red cheeks to ignite the flames of desire in Cole.

After a tremulous six months of clawing their way back together, Avery is ready to accept the help she needs to fix the marriage her husband has fought so hard to save. Will a weekend of hot, sweaty sex be enough to rescue them?

Excerpt:
“You okay in there, honey?”
The knock on the bathroom door startled her.
Damn you, Cole. Why couldn’t you stay outside a few more minutes?
“Just fine. I’m getting changed.”
“With the door locked? Since when do you lock the door, or shut it, for that matter.”
“Sorry, honey.” She hid the vibe in the striped towel and unlocked the bathroom door. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking.”
She avoided looking him in the eyes. Avery knew she was a terrible liar.
“Are you sure you’re okay? You seem a bit jumpy today.”
She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.
“I’m just fine. How was your day?” Did you go have a quickie with your friend Lynne? As tempted as she was to ask the question aloud, she refrained.
“Not as good as yours obviously. I didn’t have time to play around in the pool.”
“Oh that. That was nothing.” She brushed it off with a swat of her hand. “I really need to get dressed and back to work.”
Avery turned around to find her clothes. As she bent to put her underwear on, Cole came up behind her and rubbed his fingers across her pussy.
“Well, well, well. If my wife isn’t drenched. Did someone come?”
Avery held her breath and tried to think of a good reason for being wet. There wasn’t one.
“I needed a quick orgasm to relieve some job-related stress. I used my finger vibrator for a speedy result.”
“Really? And you knew I was home. I could’ve given that clitty a good tongue licking. What’s up with that?”
“Honey, you know I’d give anything for you to lick my pussy, but I’m superbusy. One swipe of the tongue leads to a bunch of other things that I just don’t have time for.”
“Like a blowjob for me?”
“Exactly. I only needed to relieve some stress, but if you’re going to make a big deal out of this, my quickie will be wasted.” She pretended to be angry. She wanted to get dressed and head back downstairs to the safety of her desk. She didn’t want Cole to know her pulse raced, and she didn’t want to spill the beans about the e-mail she’d read. If she gave it away without proof, he’d deny it. She needed time to collect her thoughts. Instead of devising a plan of attack, she’d planned a seduction. Only she never had time to ask Owen the magic question.
The quick orgasm was exactly what she’d needed to ease the ache in her pussy. Now, as her breathing returned to normal, she had to get dressed.
“Are you sure your relief is only stress-related?”
She stopped breathing. What was Cole suggesting?
“Of course it’s stress-related. Why else would I do it alone?”
“Exactly what I wanted to know.”
He moved closer, and Avery felt his warm breath on her neck. His cock pressed against her skin. Shit, he was rock hard and ready for sex. She didn’t have time right now. She should be working, not standing her in her bathroom naked and about to be taken by her husband. A husband she suspected was cheating on her.
“Cole, I’m confused by what you’re asking.” She feigned innocence. If he was saying what she thought, this conversation could get ugly.
“Avery, you know exactly what I mean. This,” he said while gliding his finger over the folds of her pussy, “this isn’t from being stressed by your job. This is from being so close to Owen. Would you like to fuck him?”
“What? Absolutely not. Why would you ask me something like that? You know I’d never cheat.” Unlike you.
Avery’s chest rose and fell as her heart raced. She didn’t like the direction this conversation was taking.
“I’m not suggesting cheating. I’m suggesting a threesome.”

Special Guest - Natalie Gayle

What prompted me to write romance?

It’s the question I get asked all the time.  And I’m sure I look at people with a really confused look on my face, because to me, and anyone that knows me, the answer is so simple.

I LOVE reading all types of romance.  My tastes are wide and varied and I’ll probably give just about any romance book a go.  So it simply made sense for me to write what I love to read.

I’ll also answer some of the other questions about romance novels that I get asked regularly.

When did your love of romance start?

I started reading romance when I was about fourteen.  I would escape to the library at school because it was air-conditioned and I hate the heat.  I’m still not sure why I live in Queensland?   Which is one of the hottest states in Australia.  One of the other reasons I sort sanctuary in the library was that I didn’t have much in common with the other kids, so I preferred to take a break from being at school and spend some time somewhere else and novels provided the perfect place to escape to.

I picked up my first Georgette Heyer novel then proceeded to read through the whole shelf and every other book that looked like romance in the library.  I fell in love with the whole “happily ever after” thing.  I was hooked on the comfort that regardless how bad things got, there was always going to be a happy ending.

Even today I find something very reassuring about this.  Most of us at times feel our life is a bit out of control but knowing there’s going to be a happily ever after is very comforting.

When did you read your first Mills and Boon?

At age seventeen, when I went away to boarding school I read my first Mills and Boon.  My good friend and room mate and I, would each buy a couple of Mills and Boon books on a Saturday morning, two family size blocks of Cadbury chocolate each and settle in for a weekend of reading and chocolate indulging.

We learnt a lot about “the adult” world of love and relationships. Upon reflection it should probably be considered a right of passage for any young woman.  We had fun!

When did you realise you loved writing?

I always knew I loved reading.  I read my first real series when I was about ten.  It was not until my final year of high school that I realised I actually enjoyed writing.  I’d always been very good at English but I wouldn’t say I ever had a passion for it.  Then I had an amazing English teacher at boarding school, Mrs Robyn Collins.

She really turned me “on” to English.  Mrs Collins challenged me, helped me and inspired me to push the boundaries.  She even let me turn in a major assessment piece entitled, “Why every guy should read at least one Mills and Boon.”  How many high school English teachers would let you do that?

When did you write your first book?

I was in my early twenties when I wrote my first book.  I never finished it.  I wrote about five chapters and got way laid.  What sort of romance novel?  You guessed it.  A Mills and Boon.  In fact I had the whole thing mapped out to the “formula”, but I never finished it.  I don’t even know where it is anymore and that’s probably where it should stay.

So why Finding Trust?

To be honest I’m not sure.  I’m not the sort of person that sits and wonders why I’m doing something. I’m either doing it, or I’m not.  I felt the need to write so I did.  I started the novel with a very vague idea of what was going to happen.

The Hendra virus was something that I was dealing with in part of my life at the time and my mind as it often does, got wandering and wondered – what if?  And hence the premise for the plot was born.

I wrote the first four chapters 2008.  A few people knew I’d started it but I said nothing more.  A few things happened and I got very busy with work and Boards and the novel got put away.

Last year I had a bit of a reprioritisation in my life and I suddenly had a little bit of free time on my hands.  For those who know me, they’re rolling around on the floor laughing right now.  You see I own an IT company and I’m just in the process of starting another with a good friend.  I also have a husband and two small children plus many other things happening in my life.  So free time for me is a serious joke.

Some how I found the time and wrote most of it in September 2012.  I booked the editor for the end of January 2013.  Then put the novel away for the next few months.  I had to write software specifications and project plans.  Very non- romance.

Over Christmas/New Year, I wrote the last five chapters and epilogue.  I did this in six, three hour stints when the kids went to bed each night.  And on the 5th January at around 11pm, I declared Finding Trust finished.

My husband had been saying for weeks, “Just write the end.”  Well he’s not a reader so he just didn’t get that you can’t do that.  Besides Rihanna and Brayden wouldn’t have that one little bit.

What’s even funnier was that my husband wanted to open a bottle of Vintage Champagne earlier that afternoon.  (We both love champagne – sometimes guys like it too!).  Anyway I convinced him to hold out until I finished.  So I woke him up off the lounge and we celebrated the finish together.

Now who do you think I told next?  My FaceBook friends, of course.
And that is the story of how Finding Trust came about.

What did I learn through the process?

I learnt that I love to write.  That even if I have no idea what’s going to happen in the story, if I sit down at the computer and let the characters take over, they’ll tell me what to write.

I only hope the same process works as well for Finding Judgement.  I’m working on this one now.  I’m planning to have it published around late June/July.  And I have strong concepts for book three and four in the Centre Games series.

I hope you enjoy Finding Trust.  I’m really enjoying writing Finding Judgement right now.

Interview with Charlene Roberts

Hi Amber and thank you for having me as your guest today!

Amber: So glad you could be here, Charlene!

How did you start your writing career?
I admit that I had no interest in writing before I started. But after my ex-boyfriend moved long distance, I was pretty down in the dumps. My friend Michelle, who was working on an historical, needed help in typing it (using a typewriter!) and I volunteered, thinking it would help keep my mind busy. As I read her story while typing, I thought to myself “this could be fun!” and went to my first writing group with her. After that I was hooked—enough to run on the group’s Board as Newsletter Editor and Contest Coordinator.

Amber: I started off on a typewriter too! Scary how long ago that was. ;)

Where do you dream of traveling to and why?
Oh wow, where do I start? I really enjoy the history that Europe has developed (that’s where everything started). I’ve been to England, and would go back in a heartbeat. It would take years to explore all of its history, and I would enjoy every second of it.

Tell us about your current release.
ETERNAL HEIRESS is an urban fantasy novel published by Double Dragon (www.double-dragon-ebooks.com). I had always loved reading fantasy novels and wanted to write one. It’s a story of angels versus demons, but it has nothing to do with the Apocalypse and everything to do with world domination! It was set in various cities around the world, and was a LOT of fun to write.

Tell us about your next release.
I have two works in progress which will be completed more or less at the same time. They’re both erotica novels which I plan to submit to Ellora’s Cave before the summer. The first novel, tentatively titled “A Lord’s Protector,” is the sequel to “A Gentleman’s Savior,” a time travel Regency that is currently with EC. The second WIP was a story I had written for EC’s “Bounty Hunter” themed series. My editor didn’t take it for the series, but she said that she wanted the story as a standalone, which makes me very happy! J

There is a third novel in the works, which I had started during National Novel Writing Month, but I won’t look at it until I’ve finished these other two novels—it will be the 3rd and last story in the series I’m working on.

When was your first sale?
December 2009, about a week before Christmas. I was at work and checking my emails during my lunch, when I saw the email from an editor at Ellora’s Cave. It started with “Thank you for submitting to Ellora’s Cave” and I had immediately thought “crap, they didn’t like it.” So I did everything else during my lunch and left that email for last! It was quite the surprise when I discovered that the editor wanted to contract my story. I knew I was in shock, but the first thing I did was call my friend Chris. She was very thoughtful in doing all the screaming for me, as she manages a bookstore, and can get away with that kind of thing.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?
I wish! But I write so slow that it wouldn’t be fair to them (lol!) I hope to have either group or both of them one day. My friend has beta readers and she has been grateful for their input.

Plotter or Pantser? Why?
I’ve been both, and I’m a total pantser. Unless the book I’m working on is really long, I create the stories in my head and do everything I need to in my head. I’ll write it down if a scene or scenes are mixed up, or if I can’t remember a certain character’s hair or eye color. The most I’ll do is write the bare bones of the story, and then off I go! If I write anymore, I’d lose interest. But that may change as I get older!

Do you listen to music while writing? If so what?
I like the Sounds of Nature CDs that I have, and need more of them! If I listen to music that I can hum to, then I can’t concentrate on the writing. With Nature, it’s soothing and it’s almost like white noise – it’s there, but it’s not distracting. At one point, I used to have a golf game playing on my TV as background noise! Lol

Do you have any suggestions for beginning writers? If so, what are they?
DON’T GIVE UP! It took me almost 10 years before I published my first book. Honestly, the writing was a hobby at first to help me deal with a long-distance relationship, but as I learned more about the business of writing, I couldn’t stop. I’m still learning! Sure, there are authors who have published their first book on the first try, but that’s a rare occurrence. I think of authors like JK Rowling, who had shopped her Harry Potter books to death until a publisher took a chance with her, and look where she is now! But the most important thing is PERSEVERANCE. Writers get rejection letters – heck, I still get them! But after beating the wall with your fists, you sit down, analyze what went wrong and get back at it.

Morning Person? Or Night Person?
Night person definitely! Although I’ve noticed that I’m going to bed earlier and earlier, especially during the work week. It never used to stop me from staying up and reading or watching a great movie, but nowadays, I need my zzzzz’s.

A Gentleman’s Savior - BLURB

But with his muscular body, longer hair and a few well-placed scars, Stephanie’s lord is definitely no Regency dandy. Her best work ever, the painting stirs an obsession Stephanie can’t explain. Not content to wait for the next class, she visits the art center, just to get a peek at her lord. She touches the painting…

And suddenly finds herself in a bedroom in 1817 London, her lord standing behind her—very real, very naked and very ready to end Stephanie’s sexual dry spell.

Before she can say “ton”, Stephanie’s indulging her desires with Gabriel, dressing in the height of Regency fashion and meeting the Prince Regent. But life in 1817 isn’t all tea and crumpets. Stephanie soon learns she’s reliving her past life—one that ended tragically. Thrust in the middle of a sinister plot, she must save the prince, save Gabriel…and if she’s luckier this time around, save herself.

EXCERPT
The footsteps halted outside her door for several seconds before continuing to the room next door.
Stephanie hated this propriety of sleeping in separate rooms at his mother’s house, but she had to abide by the etiquette of the time.
Nevertheless, she opened her door and peeked out. To her right, a thin stream of light appeared from beneath her husband’s door. Stephanie stepped into the hallway, taking care to be quiet as she approached Gabriel’s room and knocked gently.
She heard him approach. The door opened to reveal this splendid-looking man, his white shirt undone and displaying his hard chest, chiseled abs covered in fine, dark hair and battle scars. A man she had painted from memory in her present time.
“Darling, why are you still awake?”
She closed her eyes, relishing the sound of his low, grumbling voice filled with concern. “I couldn’t sleep,” she told him. “I stayed awake until you returned with Jackson and the other men. The thought of you encountering that intruder…” She couldn’t finish.
“You needn’t have done that.”
“I wanted to.” She took a deep breath. “May I come in?”
“Stephanie, you know Mother would be most upset—”
“You will excuse me for sounding rude, but your mother is asleep. And I would very much like to be with my husband right now.”
He nodded, opening the door wider so she could slip in. A decanter of brandy and a half-filled glass sat on the dresser. His hat, cane, coat and boots were strewn onto and near a chair by the door.
She turned and saw his expression—a look of concern marred his dark brow, his lips pinched slightly.
“Gabriel? Are you all right?”
His face cleared. “Of course.” He shut the door and approached her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Stephanie rested her cheek against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. “I know that this is not the best time, but have you discovered anything?”
“About the assassination plot? Not particularly.” He stepped slightly away to look down at her. “However, the possibility of an assassination is evident.” He told her about his conversation with the Marquess of Stratford and his fight with the stranger intent on hindering his investigation.
Stephanie cried out softly in dismay, but he assured her that he was not hurt. “Gabriel, I don’t like this—not at all. What are we to do?”
I shall continue my investigations. I have some acquaintances in Parliament who might know something.”
“Please be careful.” She grabbed his shirt. “If this madness is true, these men will do what is necessary to keep the plot a secret.”
“Don’t fret, Stephanie. I do have experience in keeping myself alive and out of trouble.”
“I know, but I would still ask that you protect yourself.” She rubbed her hand against his chest and was rewarded with a sharp intake of breath.
“I would ask that you stay with me tonight…” he whispered, and then stopped.
Stephanie looked up at him. “Then ask.”
Gabriel’s gaze was so intense her skin prickled with goose bumps. “Heaven forbid that we wake up my mother.”
“I am the one who experienced a very frightening night, and I want to spend the rest of it in my husband’s arms.” She kissed his nipple and felt his large arms tighten around her in response. “Surely your mother could not disapprove of that?”
“Mother has particular ideas about propriety.”
“Damn propriety! Will you not comfort your wife in her time of need?”
Gabriel bent and kissed her thoroughly, his tongue prying her lips apart and delving into her mouth.
Stephanie ran her fingers through his thick hair, drawing his head even closer to hers as she opened her mouth wider, tasting the remnants of the brandy and his own unique taste.
He bent and picked her up, not breaking the kiss until he laid her on the bed. “My love, I have not brought the condoms with me, as you know. I didn’t expect—”
“Shh.” Stephanie placed her hand over his mouth. “Right now, I want to be with you, Gabriel, in your arms. Nothing more.”
He quickly doused the lamp and stripped the rest of his clothes off. Climbing into bed, he reached for her and wrapped his arms and leg around her body.
“When I heard the screams, I had feared the worst,” he whispered, kissing her forehead, his lips trailing down her face until they reached hers. “The thought of losing you…”
“You won’t lose me, darling,” she told him, kissing him back. “Not now. Not ever.”

Interview with Nikki Lynn Barrett

Tell us about your favorite character from your books.
First, I want to say thank you so much for having me here today! I had a blast answering your questions!
Amber: Awww, thanks. I'm glad you agreed to stop by.
Right now, I would have to say Ben from The Secret Santa Wishing Well. He's the six year old son of the heroine, Cheyenne, and he has been known to inspire and make people cry.  Ben has no father figure in his life, and he knows his mom works too hard, so he's always trying to do what he can. Ben is the reason Cheyenne and Jacob meet, and it's been stated that men aren't the only ones that are heroes in romance stories.   Ben really made the book...and it was the easiest story I ever wrote.
Where do you dream of traveling to and why?
Everywhere! I want to photograph the beauty of the world!  But the place I really want to visit is Germany. I am from German descent and my great grandmother still lives in Berlin today. I lived there for maybe a year, but I was 3 or 4 and don't remember much.
Tell us about your current release.
Baby Stetson is book one in the Love and Music in Texas series.  It's a story about Avery and Lucas. Avery is adopted and though she's lived with wonderful parents, she still wishes for a clue about her past. She was left in a Stetson hat in the fictional town of Harmony's Echo Texas.  Then Lucas comes into town and he's secretive, reclusive and mysterious, but he can't stop thinking about Avery.  This story was so fun to write. It's emotional, funny, and mysterious. Avery and Lucas are characters I can't stop thinking about! I want to write more of them, so I hope my readers love them!
What does your family think of your writing career?
They're supportive! My dad snatched my proof copy of The Secret Santa Wishing Well when it came in and wouldn't give it back until he finished it. My mom has a copy, though she's a little slower at reading, but she tells people about it and even gave a copy to someone.  I got my love of reading and writing from my parents, who were always giving me books and when I asked for pens and notebooks, gave them to me. I was easy to please in that sense :)
Does your significant other read your stuff?
Yes! My husband reads through my drafts, he edits, he formats the books  for me....He is fully supportive of my career and I'm so thankful  for that. Currently, he says Baby Stetson is his favorite story I've written. :)
What hobbies do you actively pursue?
Other than writing? I run a blog, Storm Goddess Book Reviews & More. I love reading, of course. There's also photography. No one is safe when a camera is in my hand...I'm Queen of Candids. My favorite thing to photograph is the weather. I love storms! And yes, even though I live in Arizona..we do get storms. Here's proof- www.weatherchronicles.comwww.weatherchronicles.com  .  That's my storm photography site.  I love music, love to sing.  My latest venture is making jewelry. It's something my mom and I bond over and we're having a blast.
Tell us about your next release.
Echoes of the Past is my next release. It's very different from The Secret Santa Wishing Well and Baby Stetson. It's going to have that same emotional feel, but Echoes is darker, more angsty. It's a paranormal suspense. The H/h have a past, and they are brought together when Gabriel, the hero, comes across Calisa's  card (She's a PI), and hires her to help him find his missing daughter.   Let's just say I'm surprised at how some of the stuff is coming out in this book, but the story is good!

Morning Person? Or Night Person?
Total night owl! If I didn't have a four year old, I would probably stay up all night and write. :)

Do you listen to music while writing? If so what?
I sure do! I put Pandora on and shuffle my stations. I write with headphones so that I can drown myself in the music and write.  It helps so I can ignore the world around me. I write when my 4 year old is in preschool, but I still don't have the house to myself :(

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
To those of you that have read my books and left reviews and/or let me know you love them, that's so appreciated. That makes an author feel good!  To those that are new to me and my stories, I hope you'll give them a chance.
Thank you so much for having me here today! I really appreciate it!
Amber: Anytime...I've enjoyed your visit! :o)

Baby Stetson Blurb:

Baby Stetson
Love and Music in Texas, Book One

In small Texas towns, strangers come and go...

Left in a Stetson hat, on the steps of the local bed and breakfast, Avery Callimer came into the world on a wing and a prayer. Raised by loving adoptive parents, she's never lacked for love...only the knowledge of her past.

By day she works the Inn, but by night...Avery comes alive as lead singer in a band. Life was good...stable, until new guests blew into town.

Some strangers come with secrets and lies.

Lucas Bennett is one such stranger. Drifting from one mess to another has left him jaded. Doesn't matter the dramas are never his doing. Giving it one last shot to make a fresh start lands him Harmony's Echo, Texas and smack dab in front of the tantalizing Avery.

Despite his best efforts to ignore the burn Avery's ignited within, he's intent to keep his distance. Secrets have followed him. Secrets he doesn't want Avery to know.

Each time they're near the other things heat up like a brushfire on a dry Texas prairie.

But maybe, after the dust settles and the smoke clears, love can bloom with a fresh start.

Excerpt:

“Wow. This is a nice kitchen,” Lucas said, closing the door behind him.
Avery faced him. “You like to cook?”
“Oh yeah. I learned at a young age that I had to take care of myself, so I taught myself to cook. Now it’s something I enjoy.”
            “Are you good at it?”
“I’m good at a lot of things, Avery.” Lucas closed the gap between them.
            Too close, too close!
She couldn’t back up anymore, though. Behind her was the counter. Her back was already pressed up against it. Lucas looked at her like he wanted to devour her.
            “Lucas...”
“I know I need to stay away from you, Avery. All I want is one kiss. I’ve got to taste you. Tell me no, right now, and I’ll back away.”
Lucas pressed his body to hers. He slid his arms around her waist, pulling her to him. His face, only inches from hers, lowered. “Tell me now, Avery. Because if you don’t, I’m going to kiss you.”
Don’t! No! Yes! Do it! No!
She couldn’t get the words out. All she could think about were Lucas’s lips, mere inches from hers, sexy, tempting, inviting. Avery opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out.
Im not supposed to be so attracted to you, Avery, Lucas whispered, then his lips crashed down on hers. He cupped her face, pulling her into his kiss. She didnt even have time to decipher what that comment
meant. Avery tilted her head upward, responding to his kiss. She wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders as her fingers dug into them. Holy hell, this man could kiss. The deep urgency of his kisses
drove her mad.
“Lucas,” she muttered against his lips. His touch was lethal. It wasn’t supposed to feel this good. Or amazing. Or sensational. Avery wasn’t supposed to react to him this way. She didn’t even know this
man! Oh, but she knew his gaze, so intent on her, and she was fixated on him.
            “Yes, Avery?”
He trailed kisses along her neck now. Desire burned within, igniting quickly. His lips were back on hers now. He darted his tongue out, touching the corners of Averys lips, pushing his way in gently.
Avery opened for him, needing another taste. Lucas’s erection pressed into her, only making her want
him more. She lost all senses, other than to kiss him. Lucas hoisted her up, still pressing her against the counter. Avery squealed and wrapped her legs around him. More fiery kisses came next. His
tongue was gentle, daring, inquiring.
“Avery.” He moaned against her lips, nipping lightly. “I want to take you to-”
They broke apart as the sound of loud voices neared. Lucas put her down quickly and backed away from her.
