I’ve been suffering from my share of migraines lately. I lucked out when I didn’t get one while pregnant, but now that I’m no longer pregnant I’m making up for lost time. It was good while it lasted right? It looks like they’re not going away anytime soon. Turns out while I’ve had my head up my ass I’ve missed some important details, like missing royalty checks and unanswered emails from said publisher. It looks like I need to pay better attention to what’s going on in my writing life, even if I’m not writing.
Hopefully this situation can be rectified without too many issues, but something tells me that won’t be case.

A New Week
The start of a new week and it holds lots of promises. We had a fun time in NY. I got to see a bunch of old friends at my cousin’s birthday party and visiting with my family is always a good time.
The girls back home are all into Zumba. I recently heard about it on the talk show – The Talk. It looks like so much fun. I love to dance. All my girlfriends and I used to go out dancing frequently when I lived in NY. So to me this is a great way to lose weight. The constant theme I heard was it didn’t feel like working out. They’re having fun and being goofy. AND they were surprised when the 30 mins was up. Now that’s my kind of exercise. I’ll be looking into that in the future.
We got home from NY early in the afternoon and by 8pm I was down with a migraine. A BIG one. So big I considered going to the ER for something really strong. Somewhere around 2:30am it eased up. Between meds and cold compresses the pressure finally subsided. I wish they could find something I’m not allergic to that would rid my migraines. For now I’ll suffer.
In other news I signed my first contract of 2011. It’s for a short I wrote for Noble Romance called Love Revisited. I showed you the cover art last week, which I received before the contract. Now I can officially say my story will be released on April 11th. I’m excited. I always love hearing about where characters are after we leave them.
Something fun: Today is National Backwards Day. There are many fun things you can do like walk backwards or wear your shirt backwards, but my ultimate favorite is eating your meal backwards. Start with dessert!
Happy Monday!

Migraines from Hell
From Sunday until sometime Monday I suffered from a cluster of migraines. They’d only go away temporarily. Anyone who suffers from them knows how debilitating they can be. Not only that they wear you out. I couldn’t think straight. So far today I’m doing good. I’m hoping to keep them at bay; I’d like to get some writing done.
I’m the proud winner of Natalie Dae’s blog makeover. I’m going through all the different designs to see what I’d like for my new look. I’m very excited and thrilled to win.
In other news I interviewed fellow Noble Romance author, Nichelle Gregory over at A Pinch of Romance. Drop in and show her some love if you get a chance.
Need to get working on All or Nothing. I’ve left my poor heroine shackled to the bed before tortured with a feather. She’s probably cursing me right about now. LOL
Happy Tuesday!

Migraine Hell
Today I’m suffering from a migraine. I went to bed with one and it came back this morning. Grrrr. So my morning has been shot. Nothing got accomplished. I have edits for Dante’s Desire sitting in my inbox, a story that needs to be finished and one that needs to be started. Tomorrow is another day. :o)
I’m so thankful the snow is missing us here in RI. The surrounding states are getting pummeled with the lovely white stuff. We’re getting a ton of rain though. I’ll take that over the few feet of snow hitting MA and NY.
Right now the house is quiet. I need to take advantage of this because all the kids will be back later this afternoon. Maybe if I just close my eyes for a few minutes…oh wait someone’s pinging me on my work computer. UGH.

Must Sleep
I worked my normal nine hour day yesterday and then had to work again from 8pm-4:30am. I was able to catch a few catnaps during that time, but not much. One reason was a terrible migraine I'm still suffering with. It just won't go away. I'm currently on the couch with both my work and personal laptop trying to get some writing done. I'm 3400 words behind my nano total and would like to catch up.
We leave for NY on Wednesday to visit my family for the holidays. I'll get a lot of writing done in the hotel, I always do. That's when my stories for the chicken soup for the soul come to me too. Every year I've written one or two and every year I sell them. Hey the extra $200 a story helps. Can't beat the money for a 1k story and 30mins of my time.
Tonight the family will come together to celebrate my son's girlfriends 25th birthday. Her family seems to have neglected to remember this milestone for their daughter so it's up to us to make her feel special. While it'll only be pizza and cake, it goes a long way with her.
Tomorrow I look forward to sleeping late. No work, no appointments, nothing!
Hope everyone has a terrific weekend!

Monday, Monday

I had today all planned out...until I got a migraine at 4am. I've been in bed all day trying to get rid of this sucker. Normally, I can pop a Advil migraine and be done with it in an hour at most. HA! Not today. Nope, this one has lingered. I'm finally feeling okay to lift my head.
Not sure if my to-do list will get done. The older kids have been calling all day. They want to come swim - oh, and what's for dinner, Mom? My response? I don't know - what are you bringing!
Hope every one's Monday is better than the one I'm experiencing.
