Six Years Ago

I had my first book published. The publishing house is no longer in business, but I'm thrilled they accepted my book. They published four other books before folding. It's difficult for authors now. Do you traditional or indie publish. For me I like the profits of indie. It's all a matter of choice though. Neither way is wrong.

Happy Anniversary to me! :)

Unwrapped (formerly Mistletoe Studs) my first ever published book is now available for 0.99 on Smashwords. All versions available.

Amber's Happenings

I'm working slowly. The first book in the Rock Band series is completed and I'm doing edits. I've started the second book and I'm excited about the entire series.
When I first embarked on this series I planned 3 books, but this HOT rock chick showed up and demanded she have a book too. She's going to find love of her own.

So, I think I might self-publish these books.

That's what I'm up to...how about you? What are you up to?

As Promised

I have news to share!

I'm excited to announce Kat and I signed a contract for Dragons in Jael's Mist, with Loose Id. This is my first paranormal and I had so much fun writing it. Kat is busy adding mythology to the story, among other things. We don't have a release date yet, but this M/M/F book is scorning hot.
More details as they become available. Oh and do Kat will be dishing some more dirt over on the Seven Sexy Scribes blog! ;)

In other news I'm about to self-publish my 5th book from Aspen Mountain Press mess. The book Heat Waves. Here is the new cover. A special thanks to Valerie Tibbs of Tibbs Designs!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

It's Live!

Today I'm over at Love Romances Cafe for a chat. I'm not sure if it's 1-3 or 2-4. I'm verifying with Dawn the owner. Drop in and say hi if you get a chance. I'm giving away a copy of my Loose Id book Hit Me.

In other news:
I took the leap. My first foray into self-publishing. My book Wild in Paradise is now live on Kindle. It should be available through B&N later today. Here is the yummy cover:

I'm hoping to have another one up by Friday so you can enjoy a Christmas menage!  Unwrapped coming soon. Here is that yummy cover!

I'd like to give the person who created this credit but need to verify a few details. This book was formally Mistletoe Studs. Isn't it purdy?

As Aspen Mountain Still Turns

The diabolical continues. As of this morning the website states that the owner is suspending operations temporarily due to illness. TEMPORARILY???? This should say permanently. As an author of this publisher I’m still in limbo. I have not gotten any responses to my emails, snail mail, etc. Ms. Hicks promises all authors who have contacted her will receive a response. I hope before Christmas.
Still no royalty statements and the checks certainly aren’t rolling in. Those are the least of my concerns I just want my rights back to all seven books.
Oh well…the battle will continue. It makes me wonder if I’m better off self-publishing all future books instead of offering them to a publisher.
Another day another new drama I’m sure.

Tired

It seems I can’t do much without wearing myself out these days. Some days I take three naps. Mind you have a ton of things on my to-do list.
My editor informed me I’m penciled in for an October 11th release on a book that I haven’t finished writing yet. On top of not finishing it, it has to be to line edits the second week of August. That means we have to do our edits first. YIKES! Talk about pressure. I know the story is close to done, but I have a bunch of research and a revision of 4k that needs to have kink added. Oh and I only have 15 days to finish this!
The other day the DH and I were having lunch on the deck when a woodpecker flew right up and landed on the deck railing. It was so cool. I’d never seen one that close up and he didn’t resemble the one from my childhood cartoon. :o) Wish I had a camera handy, but the little guy didn’t stay long and I really don’t blame him. When you have three large dogs looking at you I’d fly away too!
Off to get some things done before my energy dissipates.
In other news my awesome friend Julia Barrett has self-published a book called Incorporeal that sounds like a must read. If I know Julia this is going to be incredible.
You can buy her book here:

I’m running over to get my copy now.
