OMG on the last 5 mins AGAIN. You're killing me...
In other news I'm working on revisions for Trapt in Troy. I've been lucky to spend some quiet time in the library thanks to my daughter needing to be tutored to pass the 11th grade.
I have to thank the school for this option. Her anxiety was off the charts, but her meds are kicking in and she's even talking about going back to school in Sept. That's huge for me. She's missed all of the 4th quarter and over 50 day between the 1st-3rd.
Luckily she has the grades.

My Love of Music
My love affair with music started when I was just a little
girl. My parents were fans of rock music – Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, and The
Doors to name a few. I was a fan of all three. There was one album though that
touched me: Heart’s Dreamboat Annie.
My favorite song on the album is Magic Man, but I love Crazy
on You too. When my parents were at work I’d put the album on the record player
and sing my heart out. (Sure I’m showing my age. I was 8 when the album came
out.) I loved Nancy Wilson. A chick with a guitar. What’s not to love? I dreamed
about being a rock chick. I wanted to play guitar and sing.
Musical talent I wasn’t blessed with. My uncle though was
another story. He played the harmonica and acoustic guitar. He could sing too. He
was blessed with the ability to draw too. He has incredible drawings, unfortunately
our family no longer has. When he was killed in a car accident his wife took
all the drawings, but that’s another story.
My uncle and I were very close and I was his biggest fan. I could
sit and listen to him play the guitar for hours.
At 12 we got a dog. Dusty
was my responsibility. I had to walk him. My parents were kind enough to buy me
a small radio that I could carry with me while walking the dog. I’d listen to
Top 40 music and the dog got to hear my lovely voice. Hahahaha.
By high school my music taste changed again to the
hairbands. Sorry, but I still listen to Hair Nation on Sirius.
I can listen to just about any music but Country. No offense
to anyone out there who enjoys Country. It was something I could never connect
with. I’m not sure why and I’d never judge anyone by the music they listen to.
Music has always played a huge part in my life. So it makes
sense that I would write a Rock Band Series. I’m still editing and hope to have
this new book to my readers by May or June the latest. Each day I open my WIP I’m
excited for where the book is headed.
Book 2 is already in the works so hopefully it won’t be too
far behind book one.
Coming soon a blog on how I entered the world of Hard Core
Rock.

Oh So Happy
The wedding plans are coming along nicely and I’m almost
done paying my portion of the event. That means I’ll be free to get rid of the
second job. Once that job is gone I’ll have more time for writing again. I’ll
be able to do what I love the most. Sure I’m still writing. Not as much as I want
to be…but at least the words are flowing.
I’m currently editing Trapt in Troy, a rock band story. I
sent the first chapter to my critique partner and friend Katalina Leon. She
sent me back positive feedback. I’m thrilled to be moving forward on this
project.
Spring has arrived on the calendar, but if you walk outside
here in Rhode Island it tells a different tale. The temps are mid-30s. Not
spring weather in my mind. Oh and then there’s snow in the forecast for today.
Snow!
We’re only expecting 1-3 inches and I’m sure it’ll melt over
the weekend. Seriously though, I’m so sick of this weather. I want warm temps. And
you can take that in a whiney voice because I’m whining over here. My teeth are
chattering from the cold. Okay, so that’s a bit extreme.
The little one has been sick with croup. She was generous
enough to pass her illness along to mommy. I’ve been sick with a cold or sinus
infection for 4 days now and I feel like dog doo.
Other than that I’m happy with the way things are moving
along. Things can only get better from here.

Amber's Happenings
I'm working slowly. The first book in the Rock Band series is completed and I'm doing edits. I've started the second book and I'm excited about the entire series.
When I first embarked on this series I planned 3 books, but this HOT rock chick showed up and demanded she have a book too. She's going to find love of her own.
So, I think I might self-publish these books.
That's what I'm up to...how about you? What are you up to?

December Newsletter
The newsletter is out...sign up on the right for exciting details on the 12 days of Christmas contest.
I did my own version of Nano and managed 35760 words. Some of those were The End on my book Trapt in Troy. The first in a 4 book Rock Band series. I managed 33k on contemporary romance that I promise I'll finish this month. This is a promise to myself! :)
Happy December

Friday Update
Today is my last day before vacation from the day job. It’s
a much needed a vacation. We’re not going away there’s too much to do around
the house, that can’t get done while working our stressful jobs. It’s okay,
because the weathermen aren’t offering a promise of sunny days.
Our true vacation will be in August when we go to Virginia. I’m
looking forward to that vacation, but not rushing the summer away by any means.
As you know I’m a huge fan of summer.
We’ve been talking about moving to Texas or Florida. We’re
both sick of the New England weather. The move will take place in two years
when my 16yr old graduates from high school. Unless she goes to live with
someone else before then and the way things are going that’s a huge possibility
too.
My mom and son are coming for a three day visit. Tomorrow I’m
throwing a birthday party for both my mom and husband. I had hoped the kids
could use the pool, but it doesn’t seem likely. It’ll still be a good time.
I’m hoping to finish writing my current wip Trapt in Troy,
while on vacation. This book is the first in my new Rock Band series. A surprise
popped up in this book I didn’t see coming. A female singer will cause issues
for Troy and Katherine. Journey, the sexy singer will get her own book down the
line. She definitely has a story to tell.
Next week I’ll start the countdown to my new release –
Operation: Second Honeymoon. A new M/F/M coming from Loose Id.
Happy Friday!
