Welcome Liz Crowe

Across the Beer Bar with Helena, Dustin and Erik

Liz: Welcome guys, what can I pour for you?
Erik Aldrich leans over and gives Liz a deep blue stare.
Erik: Don’t know Liz. Why don’t you pour me your favorite from your brewer?
Liz tires not to drool, and pours him a Classic American Pilsner.
Dustin rolls his eyes, puts his arm around Helena.
Dustin: Suck up. I’ll have that Gulo Gulo—an India Pale Lager eh? Does that even exist?
Helena elbows him.
Helena: Obviously it does Prufrock, unless you’re blind. It’s right up there. Jesus. I’ll have a Wolverine Amber please.
Liz pours the beers and one for herself.
Liz: So, guys, how are things at Prufrock these days?
Dustin: Better now, thanks to these two. Hey, this is an amazing brew. How do you do this?
Liz: Like I’m going to tell you? I heard you guys were expanding again. Congratulations. Are you going to be selling beer outside of Michigan?
Helena: He’s right, these beers are incredible. Yes, we are headed into the crowded waters of greater Chicago first. I’ve got to hire some locally based sales guys out there.
Erik: Damn….(he pushes his empty glass across the bar) More please?
Liz tries once again not to stare too obviously at his tall, blond perfection.
Dustin: Dude, we need this beer. (he lifts his half empty glass of pale hoppy lager and holds it to the light). You filter it right?
Liz (sighs): Stop asking me that. I’m not telling you anything.  And so the three of you…..everything good?
Dustin puts his arm back around the tall beautiful Helena and whispers in her ear.
Helena: Yeah (she blushes and tucks her hair back before finishing her beer). We’re working through it together. (she reaches to her left and Erik takes her hand and puts it to his lips)
Liz: Listen, Helena you have got it so good I’m trying hard not to be insanely jealous. But these two guys are pretty alpha. How can you stand it?
Erik finishes his second beer and laughs so hard he gets the hiccups.
Helena glares at him.
Erik: We know who’s really in charge. That’s how it works.
Dustin: We do indeed.
He looks over Helena’s head and winks at the other man. Liz tries not to melt at the smoldering look Erik gives back to the tall, dark and painfully handsome Dustin.
Helena elbows them both.
Helena: Anyway, Liz. We want to thank you for everything. We (she takes the hands of the men on either side of her) have a long way to go but regardless of who’s in charge, I know I love both of these guys.  You know, when I don’t want to murder them with a rusty screwdriver.
Dustin: Ouch. (he puts Helena’s other hand to his lips.)
Erik pushes the three empty glasses back across the bar to Liz.
Erik: We need another….
Liz: anything for you guys. Thanks for coming by! Cheers!

Bio: Microbrewery owner, best-selling author, beer blogger and journalist, mom of three teenagers, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great middle west, in a Major College Town.  Years of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as an ex-pat trailing spouse plus making her way in a world of men (i.e. the beer industry) has prepped her for life as erotic romance author.  When she isn't sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, she can be found writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.

Otherwise, look for her doing pounds of laundry for her athletic children, watching La Liga on the Fox Soccer Channel, or trying to figure out what to order in for dinner. Liz loves her Foo Fighters Pandora station, and watching reruns of Deadwood, when there isn't any decent sports on (like during “golf season”).  Her beer blog a2beerwench.com is nationally recognized for its insider yet outsider views on the craft beer industry. Her books are set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch and in high powered real estate offices.  Don’t ask her for anything “like” a Budweiser or risk painful injury.

Blurb:

Rone Kreed wants Sheeku in every way imaginable. Which is kind of impossible when possessed with a demon who devours souls with a kiss and spreads eternal damnation through his seed.  But Sheeku has a power that protects her from the demon's sadistic intoxicant, tempting Rone to play ever closer to the fires of her innocent, yet demanding desires. When he learns that protecting her from her sadistic mafia family will require his hand in marriage, exorcism becomes imperative. Because he's one sweet beg away from surrendering to the woman he's fallen in love with, and giving the demon her angelic soul.

Excerpt:

Four hours later I lay in the center of my bed, finally reaching that place inside me. Turned out to be more difficult than I remembered. And I was nervous as shit. Not about attempting this, but about attempting it with her. I wasn’t even sure I could still do it, wasn’t even sure I remembered how. And what if she somehow figured out what I was doing and got pissed?
I slowed my breathing, getting ready to disconnect from my body. The biggest danger with this stunt was leaving the demon alone with nobody home to watch his ass. I didn’t even want to think about the painful bitch of reentrance.
When weightlessness filled me, I turned around and stared at my body on the bed. Okay, nice. I floated forward, forming rope with part of my shield and lassoing it to the door so I didn’t float off into the freaky beyond that loomed above me in an endless expanse.
The fun part of this was how heightened feelings were in this state. Like peeling the skin back on a human’s soul and stroking it. I shuddered in anticipation at her door, then leaned my head in and peeked into her room. My heart sped up.
Look at her. Hair down and everywhere.
The rope snaked before me and attached to her bed without me even thinking it. Excitement tickled through me at how in tune with my needs the shield was. The last time I’d done this was like wrestling goo. My shield seemed as curious about her as I was, pulling me toward her. It lifted me, and I glided over the bed, over her body. I stared at the one exposed foot and leg as I passed. Nothing like the skinny and scrawny limb I’d imagined. More like a petite replica of a well-defined leg. The next surprise came at the generous swell of her hip beneath the sheet. I would’ve bet money she hadn’t a curve on her. I eagerly sought what waited at her chest, but the way she slept with both hands clasped under her neck prevented any view.
I stared at those slender brows, perfectly full lips parted slightly. Tiny nose. Again I wanted to slide my finger along her jaw.
The shield formed anchors around my form, adding mass until I gingerly sank into the mattress next to her. The first thing I noticed was her smell. Vanilla and almonds. I breathed it in deep and grew aroused. I leaned my head toward her without thinking, drawing in another deep breath. It was her hair. The scent came from her hair.
I lay there, watching her, my chest filling with so many odd sensations. She was clearly angelic. A strand of my shield reached out, and I panicked when it attached to the sheet. Shit, it knew what I wanted. Caught in the cross fire of conscience and curiosity, I did nothing as it slid the sheet down.
She turned nearly on her back, and heat erupted in my groin. She was naked. I locked my gaze on the handfuls of heaven with the most delicious, full nipples I’d ever seen. My dick throbbed, and my mouth watered with the need to taste that forbidden delicacy. I swallowed and focused on breathing.
The strands of her dark hair drew my eyes down where it cascaded and draped over her waist, most of it a river behind her. My breath froze as she moaned and turned on her side, sliding one knee up higher between us. I continued holding my breath as her hand slid out toward me.
She let out one long, sweet moan.
She stroked my shielded chest, then lower over the ridges of my abdomen, fingers growing firmer as she went. I lay stiff, taking it, fighting the shield; it wanted to dissolve in answer to my desire rather than my caution. She finally slid her hand right over my huge erection, and she whimpered. I choked at the warm pressure. It felt so fucking good. And real, as if my body was right there in the room with her, her hand physically on me.
Lava pulsed through my veins when her aura radiated from her body. Barely able to breathe, I felt my shield melt like butter under its sensual touch. I struggled lamely to hold it in place, quickly losing the battle when her leg slid along mine. I stared at that hand gliding firmly over the solid form of my spirit body, fingers eagerly caressing every inch of my chest like I was something exquisite.
My cock begged for her touch, and panic slammed me. I needed to leave. Leave now.
I fought to break away, only no part of my body would move. I looked down, and her aura covered my entire body, holding me in place.
She whimpered again as she stroked her hand over my rigid length, fingers exploring with silky curiosity. There was no denying the aching groan she dragged out of me. She answered with a sultry moan. Did she know what was happening? Oh shit, please don’t let her know. Let her think it’s a dream.
Her aura pushed between my legs. I gasped and opened for her. Heat encased my cock and balls, and I fought not to orgasm. She pressed her warm body along my side, kissing my chest until she made her way on top of me. She pressed her pussy to my leg, and I groaned again, struggling to move, to push back.
She panted as her lips devoured my chest.
“Sheeku,” I whispered, needing to know if she was aware.
She tasted her way up to my face, seeming oblivious to my voice. I turned to meet her kiss, and our breaths mingled as she hovered inches above my mouth. I tried to move again, wanting to pull her in the rest of the way.
She bit her luscious lower lip and drew her slender brows tight, shifting her body between my legs, pressing my cock against my stomach.
I nearly exploded as she rubbed her sex against the length of my cock. The smell of her hit me, and I growled in hunger, wanting to bury my nose and face in it.
She placed both hands on my shoulders and lifted her upper body, masturbating herself on my dick as she mewled desperate sounds. She arched her back, and I growled again, trying to grab her waist and help her make it feel good.
I lowered my eyes to her perfect breasts where the most amazing nipples drove my orgasm forward. Puffy pink ends pouting on creamy white. Reminded me of vanilla ice cream with a fat cherry on top. And a cute pebbled tip begging me to lick, suck, and bite.
As if she sensed my desperate hunger, she brought her breasts right to my mouth, and I eagerly took in as much of the softness as I could. Her sharp cry lassoed my dick with fire. I sucked gently at first, then let years of buried desire take a turn with eager nibbles on that thick, firm tip. I opened my mouth wider and sucked deeper, wanting to feel the fullness of her breasts. I pulled away to vigorously flick her nipple with my tongue, craving more of those desperate, little whimpers she gave as she pumped her sweet pussy against me.
I tried to move her to the head of my dick. How was she fucking holding me down?
I stared at her above me, watching her face in ecstasy. “Sheeku,” I whispered. “God, you’re so beautiful.”
She moaned something in Chinese and ground herself faster on me. Oh fuck, she was gonna come.
“I want to touch you…let me touch you,” I said.
She cried out and fell on me, freeing my limbs. I wrapped her in them, pulling her lips to me, devouring her kisses. I grabbed her waist and slid her down until her heat pressed right on the head of my cock. I captured her face between my hands again and coaxed her mouth open with my own, tasting, growling as she rocked her pussy against me in sweet little pumps. I dipped my tongue in and stroked the tip of hers, teasing at first. The desperate need building in her moans made my dick throb.
Take me. Yes, yes. That’s what every sound she made said to me.
My shield’s energy raced through my body, stripping every nerve down for ultimate stimulation. Too damn kind. I rolled with her, placing her under me. Her hot breath against my lips went to the core of my being. She gripped my shoulders, her eyes still closed, brow creased with an ache that I was desperate to soothe.
I reached down and glided myself along her entrance. Sheeku dug her nails in my shoulders and arched her back, mouth parting. I shut my eyes and stilled, growling back the tsunami orgasm that demanded release. When it receded, I stroked over her slippery sex again. She thrashed her head, and I fought not to drive into her.
I pressed at her entrance, and the way she cried out froze me. No, reminded me of her sexual abuse. I stilled for several seconds, then licked along her lower lip. Then top. I kissed her carefully. I moved my lips over hers, letting our noses brush with each pass.
The tiny cry she gave in my mouth melted my heart. “I won’t hurt you, baby,” I murmured against her lips. “I’d never, ever hurt you.” Nothing had ever been truer.
Her breath panted against me as she slid her fingers down my arms, then over my ass, kneading the muscle there.
God, yes. I pressed my forehead to hers, fighting for control. I pushed into her and ate up her gasps with my lips and tongue. She finally thrust her hips up, taking me in a little farther. She threaded fingers through my hair and held me still with her legs, licking all over my mouth. Again she tilted her hips, beckoning me in more.
Three more inches and she dug her nails into my shoulders.
Shit, don’t hurt her. I lay rigid, breathing for control as she got used to me.
I gently nudged her face aside with mine and kissed her neck with a soothing tenderness, reminding her she was safe. She arched her back again, and she pushed those beautiful tits against my chest. It made me crazy. I sucked the skin on her neck, and she raked her nails over my back and stopped on my ass.
She pressed me deeper and cried, “Yes, yes!” She clenched my dick with her hot muscles until I shuddered out a groan. I focused all my strength on carefully entering her. I had never needed anything more than to be buried completely inside her, to have her legs wrapped around me, have her want me and need me.
I thrust in fully, and Sheeku’s eyes flew open.
But there was no pleasure, or thought of what her eyes looked like. There was only the terror of seeing the demon right behind me, watching us.

Whisper on a Scream
Synopsis
The werewolves are dying. Years of war between the Born werewolves and bitten, along with a lack of healthy bloodlines, has taken its toll on the race and if something isn’t done soon they will all be gone within the next fifty years. They are a strong breed, but have one major weakness that will probably end them all.
Werewolves – like their natural counterpart the wolves – breed for life; and if there is no mate, there is no life. A prolonged separation between mates can kill them more efficiently than any bullet ever could.
The Council are playing with fire when they use this very weakness against Sugar Lubec, the Born daughter of two bitten parents, to carry the offspring of Alpha Jack Coon. He is the leader of the largest werewolf pack in North America.
Ending the war between the two groups is the only thing that can save the werewolves and bring Jack and Sugar together. Can they do it before they end up paying the ultimate price for their long separation? Or will that price be the only thing that can end the war?

***
Excerpt
“Miss Lubec, though Alpha Coon's offer may be tempting, I must keep in mind the bloodlines from which you are descended. Your parents have killed off our race for over thirty years. They left you for dead and you were brought up by the human race. From looking through your records, I have come to the conclusion that you were raised to be a monster and you do it well. You showed signs of aggression at a very early age and showed no hesitation when it came to injuring people. Dangerous enough as a human woman, but a recipe for disaster as a werewolf because that is what you now are. As I see it, Miss Lubec, you are your mother's daughter right down to your good looks and quick wit.” Even though I knew nothing of my family, I now knew enough to know that this was a bad thing.
“But …” the second speaking member continued, “I am not the only member of this Council, and some feel you should be given a chance to thrive in a Pack-related environment, even if it is only an temporary experiment.”
The only person in the line up who looked at me was the woman on the end, Jack's relative. She was my saving grace, but she had a dangerous air about her. They say politics can corrupt an otherwise pure mind, and the longer you are exposed to them the worse it becomes – like standing next to a power plant and letting it turn your brain to cancer.
“Alpha Coon was right to offer the one thing we need, but I am denying you both that right. You will be allowed to live within the Pack for as long as you wish, but you will not be permitted to marry or have children within its ranks.” The woman at the end of the table flinched – as well as a woman of her age and condition could – but quickly covered it. I saw in that moment that she hadn't gotten the job for her lack of backbone or wit, and though she may have seemed decrepit, she was a force to be reckoned with. At the moment, I was just glad she seemed to be on my side.
Jack stood up, knocking his chair to the floor in his rush. “You're condemning her to death!” His features were twisted in hate and rage, as he pointed a finger towards the speaking elder.
I stood up and placed a hand on his extended arm lowering it gently. With it Jack's whole body sagged. It looked like my touch had the same affect on him as his did on me. A warrior's lace; the one thing that can soften a man of war is a woman's lace. A high school English teacher once told me why women like Lady Guinevere and Helen of Troy, though they were not the appointed leaders of their nations, could build them up according to the men they chose to love. The women could also be their death, depending on how the cards fell.
“No Mr. Coon, she will be permitted to marry outside the Pack if she chooses a human companion, but if you decide to once again ignore our commands, you will be punished with a death...hers.” The old man gave a confident nod of his head to signal the meeting's end and the group stood and filed out the way they came in, including the oldest woman, without a second glace in my direction.
Jack dropped his head into his hands when the room was empty. “They are testing my patience.” He voice made my lips curl into a frown. He sounded too confident for a man who feared this group so much.
I stood in back of his chair like a painted doll and stared at the clock...still ticking. Life goes on once again …

Winner, Interview and Whet Your Appetite Wednesday

I let random.org chose the winner and it’s – JUNE M. Congrats. I sent you an email.
Today Katalina Leon and I are featured over on Leta Blake’s blog. Drop by and say hello if you have the time.

Now on to Whet Your Appetite Wednesday.

He glanced over to her apartment. She was gone. She was likely showering and settling in for the night, which was okay. Her work was done for today. He still couldn’t believe his luck the first time he spotted her.
He’d been standing on his balcony enjoying a warm summer night and an ice-cold beer. The sky had turned a midnight blue. The stars were plentiful. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Dante remembered leaning against the steel railing and glancing around the neighborhood. He wasn’t expecting to find her standing there in the light of her bedroom. He never imagined as she gazed up at him that she would continue undressing. He’d expected her to flip him off and pull the drapes closed, but she hadn’t. Instead she smiled and removed all her clothes.
His beer nearly fell from his hand as he realized what she was doing. Never in his life had a woman undressed for him. Most women he dated were afraid of their sexuality. They wanted to have sex with the lights off, so he couldn’t see them naked.
Dante loved their bodies. Women were his inspiration. Maybe that’s what they feared with him. Maybe they were afraid of ending up on a canvas if they allowed him to fully drink in their beauty.
His neighbor had. She wasn’t afraid of him seeing every inch of her body. In fact there was no doubt she enjoyed putting on a show for him. What started out as a simple strip show turned into a full-fledged seduction over the last few weeks. She was gorgeous and sexy. He wanted to possess her. He longed to touch every inch of her precious skin. He wanted to claim her. Possess her.
The one downfall was she had no idea her body was displayed on many different canvases. She would know though. He wouldn’t keep that piece of information from her. Before he told her, he wanted to thank her properly for being a great inspiration. Once he’d properly thanked her he would show her the pieces of art he had grown to cherish.
Yes, it was time to meet his neighbor.

Welcome TW Gallier

Introducing TW Gallier and his latest book, BLACK HEART

TW Gallier has just released his newest book Black Heart, a paranormal/urban fantasy.
Synopsis:
Sable Hart hunts vampires. Some would call it a calling. She calls it divine justice, and a pretty good living. All is going well until she gets caught by some Old World vampires, and the next thing she knows vampires, bikers, and the police are all after her. To make matters worse, everyone seems to have lost their sense of humor. When she discovers a vampire plot to turn Dallas into a safe haven for the undead, Sable has no choice but to turn up the heat. With stakes, silver bullets, and a wicked sword, she becomes the vampires' most feared enemy — Black Heart!
Excerpt:
Yuri's house was a two-story, red brick Georgian. He had good taste in real estate. I bet the neighbors wouldn't be too happy when they learned they had vampires in the neighborhood. A houseful of vampires tends to bring property values down, and people in Highland Park worry about such things.
Yuri and family should be tucked away safely in their coffins. It was pre-dawn, minutes from official sunrise, and so light out it gave me the willies. I had to wear sunglasses to see normally. Not light enough to burn, but pretty damn close.
I checked the front door. It was locked, but I could sense people inside. I could feel their blood surging, hear their hearts beating. I went around back and found it locked too.
I took a deep breath. It's purely an emotional thing, really; but it still helped.
The coming attack was my first solo staking, and an ambitious one at that. I might be harder to kill, but they were still older, stronger, and there were more of them. I hoped surprise would carry the day for me.
I loosened the katana on my back. I had three javelins with silver spearheads in my left hand. Beretta pistols rode both hips, and a canteen of holy water hung around my neck. That was every weapon I had left.
The door was hung to swing in. I kicked the door, right next to the knob. It crashed open and I charged through.
“Yippee-ki-yay, I’m here to ruin your day!”
The door opened into a family room. Spacious and sparsely decorated. There were four men watching TV. They jumped to their feet and charged me. No hesitation. Born fighters.

I pulled my sunglasses off and stepped into the closest man's charge. Locking eyes with him, I caught him in my gaze and brought the butt end of my javelin bundle up into his chin. Hard. He fell straight back: out cold.
"Damn, I pack a wallop now!"
Then —
Bang, bang, bang!
— and I felt three hits and three spots of fire in my belly. The impacts forced me back a step. Glancing down, I saw three bloody holes in my pink tank. I no longer felt the wounds, or even the bullets inside me. Not silver then. I cut my eyes up and smiled smugly at the stunned thug.
My mistake. He recovered quicker than I thought possible.
The man seized me by my hair and yanked me forward, straight into the wall. Head first. My head went through the sheetrock. It hurt like the dickens, but the pain faded fast. Amazing new body.
I pulled my head out as I released two of the three javelins. I didn't need to see the man to know where he was. I could feel him. So I spun left, and thrust the remaining javelin deep into his belly. He looked surprised, then embarrassed. I watched as his aura collapsed into him. Gone in death.
I yanked the javelin out and turned to face the two other men.
The third man charged me. I guess he missed what I did to his little playmate. I was nicer to him; mainly because he was too close to really consider my next action. I reacted out of instinct, and kicked straight up into his chin. His head snapped back. Loudly. That was a broken neck. Dead before he hit the ground.
"Just me and you, babe," I said. "Come give momma a big, wet kiss."
He lifted a big pistol. Revolver. Looked like a .44 Magnum. Bet he had a little dick. He aimed at my chest, at my heart, and pulled the trigger. Knocked me back two steps. Yep, .44 Mag alright. Ouch.
"Bastard, that hurt. I'm going to kill you slow."
"You're a vampire?"
"Duh. You're buddy already shot me three times and it didn't faze me. What did you think I was, a girl scout?"

Now on to Whet Your Appetite

Chasing Forever

Jordyn sat on the beach towel watching Diego riding out the waves. Her pulse raced. He knew he shouldn’t be out there. Hurricane Ivan was heading inland and the weatherman had warned of the dangerous undertow. She’d attempted to chase a few waves, but once she’d swum a few yards she knew it was a mistake. She’d quickly swum back to shore and waited while her best friend tried to prove he was smarter than the ocean.
The waters had turned mean and ugly over the last twenty minutes and the sky was an ominous gray. The hurricane was moving closer. A breeze came in off the water and a chill passed through her body. She’d unzipped her wet suit down to her waist, exposing her bikini top when she exited the water. She should cover up again in case the rains poured down.
She scanned the waters. Someone on a Jet Ski buzzed around, stopping every so often to take some pictures. She hoped he would keep away from the jagged rocks. The razor-sharp rocks were Jordyn’s bigger fear with Diego being out on the water. One wrong move and a wave could drag him under and throw him against the rocks, ending his life.
Jet skis were prohibited at any time on this part of the beach, but it didn’t stop them, especially on a day like today. They’d swarm around the surfers—in this case, just Diego—hoping to get a great shot of him nailing a thirty-foot wave.
Hopefully that’s all he catches.
She scanned the beach looking for any other fools. People with cameras hoping to click the ideal picture of the perfect storm peppered the sand.
“Dumbasses,” she muttered. What did that make her? She was on the beach too. Why had she allowed Diego to convince her this was a good idea?
“Because I’m a fool too.” She buried her foot in the sand and watched how the tiny particles glided between her toes. If she was smart she’d grab her board, jump in her Jeep and hightail it back to her place. Common sense flew out the window when it came to Diego, because she was head over heels in love with him.
Too bad he doesn’t feel the same. He loved her like a sister he’d said a few too many times, especially on drunken occasions.
If she’d had a nickel for all the times he’d said, “If you weren’t like a sister to me, I’d fuck you.”
How her pussy moistened with the thought. A few times she’d been tempted to sock him one and other times she’d wanted to tackle him and show him the woman inside waiting for him to fill that void deep within.
Instead she’d sat back and waited.
