Still Discombobulated!

Okay, so for 2012 I decided I would spend more time at my desk and try to be more productive. I have one word for my progress/process – discombobulated. I’m finding it hard to get used to this new routine. I’m not really sure why either.

Yesterday I signed up for the RWA NEC conference in April. I got my hotel reservations and now I’m excited for the conference.

I’m bored. Bored with my day job, bored with the fiction and non-fiction writing I’m doing, so I started a magazine writing class. I’m hoping to shake up this rut I’m in.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

The last few days I’ve had no time on my hands. Today I have too much. I can hear everyone – THEN WRITE. I wish I could. I’m still fighting my muse. Pesky, stubborn, PIA won’t cooperate.
My youngest started 8th grade today. YAY. The house is quiet, except the three panting dogs. I mailed off a bunch of promo stuff to people today. Waiting for the winner of my newsletter to contact me with her mailing address so I can mail out her Dante’s Desire tote bag full of goodies.
My Romanticon stuff is coming along nicely. I have one promo item to order and I’ll be all set.
That’s all I got right now. Hard to talk about writing when I’m not doing any. I have nothing out there to be accepted. This sucks! LOL
Okay, I’m going to open my WIP and put 100 words in it. I don’t care if they make sense. Maybe it will get the juices flowing.

Conference Virgin

As you can tell from the title I’m a conference virgin. I plan to pop that cherry so to speak this weekend. Tomorrow I’m heading out to the NEC RWA Imagination in Flight Conference. I’m excited. I signed up late because I wasn’t sure if my work schedule would allow me to attend. It turns out it did. I’m not pitching this time. I have a few full lengths that would be appropriate and I would like to pitch, but they aren’t fully edited.
Because you never know when you might find yourself in the elevator with an editor or agent, I am prepared “just in case”.
I’m looking forward to a weekend of hanging with friends and fellow authors. There are a lot of EC authors who belong to NEC. It will be nice to put faces to a few of the authors I don’t know but I talk with on different loops.
I’ve spent the last few days getting promo stuff together and getting the house prepared for mom to be gone for 2 days. Technically I’ll be home Saturday night, but still…
I’ll report next week on all the fun things I learned or experienced.
For now I’ve got a lot of things to do.

TGIF!

I made it to Friday! I'm feeling much better. Luckily I don't have to work this weekend, but I do have softball games. Four to be exact. Also this is the week of my chapter's meeting. Looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer break.

I did get some writing done this week. My hero and heroine are officially in bed. They currently in the midst of foreplay waiting for me to return. They should be more than ready to do the deed when I return! :)

Next week is going to be all about promotion on my blog. I haven't been doing much promotion and it's time I got my butt in gear. So everyday I'm going to post an excerpt from each of my books. I may even treat you to some wips! No not whips! Unless of course you're into that.
