I have a few two bits of exciting news. First I want share that I’m expecting. I’m 15 weeks along. I’m on so many restrictions it’s insane. I can barely get off the couch, per doctors orders. And the DH is making sure I’m listening. More so because of my age and personal issues than fear of a repeat of my last pregnancy. I’m being monitored every three weeks for the baby’s sake. The team of doctors are positive and I’m thinking nothing but positive thoughts. I’ll be delivering early at 36 weeks, so prayers and good thoughts are always welcome. So, what’s with the sea horse title? That’s what my 13 yr old is calling the baby. Because we don’t know the sex yet, she’s decided to call it a sea horse. We found it humorous and are going with sea horse. LOL
The only sad part is I might not get to go to RomantiCon. I can sacrifice it for one year, but I’m hoping to pull off going. I’m waiting for them to nail down the exact date of delivery. The way I see it is I should be going back to work the Monday after RomantiCon, so if that’s the case I’m going to take off two extra days and go. :o)
The other good news is I received a contract for my quickie Just Another Rainy Day. This story will be part of EC’s taboo line. No word on a release date and I’m still awaiting edits, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
I thought I’d start Monday off with a bang!
Happy Monday!

Got Eggs?

I got so used to not blogging while away I almost forgot today.
I thought I took more pics than I did. It turns out most of mine were of Angelo. Go figure, right!

As you know I had a fantastic time at RomantiCon. Fran Lee and I did a reader based workshop to find out what readers are interested in seeing or not seeing in books. Most said they want a HEA, Happily Ever After or at least a promise of one, aka Happy For Now.
I personally always write this way, because as a reader it’s what I want too.
Anyway the day of the workshop I had a terrible sore throat. I wasn’t sick...no, instead it was induced by my DH’s sense of humor or timing for that matter.
Early Saturday morning we went to the breakfast buffet. Now, mind you I didn’t care for the scrambled eggs the day before and they were serving them again. They did look better so I took a small scoop and loaded my plate with fruit. I’m a breakfast person. I wanted breakfast.
So we go sit down and I’m picking at my fruit. I decide to try my eggs. Just as I shovel some in the DH says, “Yup, same yummy eggs as yesterday. My ass is already clenching.”
I begin to laugh so hard, the eggs go down the wrong pipe. I started choking and coughing like crazy. Yup this is why I had a sore throat the rest of the day and had trouble speaking during my workshop.
Thanks Honey!!!!!!!!

Home Again!
Wow! I feel like I’ve been out of touch with the real world for a week. Oh, I have. I returned late last night from Romanticon 2010. Ellora’s Cave puts on one helluva party. I drooled all over the cavemen. LOL
When Angelo walked in to the meet and greet, my DH said, “Oh I know him, he’s plastered all over the house.”
This is true. He’s on the cover of Dante’s Desire, which I think is one hot cover. I must say, Angelo is ten times hotter in person and his accent will melt you. I know a Latin lover will show up in a future book.
I also got to meet an amazing group of authors. I formed new friendships and bonded with many I’ve known online. My hubby was a great sport about being at a conference. A few women brought their husbands.
I came home to so much good news. First Adrift received a Top Pick 5 star review from Night Owl Reviews. If you’d like to see what they had to say, check it out here:
http://www.nightowlreviews.com/nor/Reviews/Ursshebear-reviews-Adrift-by-Amber-Skyze.aspx
Adrift was also the Fresh pick on October 9th over at Fresh Fiction. Talk about publicity. Do you know how many people they reach daily? I couldn’t ask for better promo. :0)
Lastly, I received a contract for my Christmas story – Naughty St. Nick. It will be released on December 10th from Aspen Mountain Press. They published my first Christmas story two years ago. YAY.
Today I have to spend the day getting caught up around the house and at work. I’m hoping to get some pics up from Romanticon and finish the quickie I was working on before I left.

Cindy Spencer Pape is in the House

Today please give a warm welcome to Cindy Spencer Pape (who I've probably hugged and gushed over by now at RomantiCon). Please excuse me Cindy if I make a fool of myself, but I am a big fan of yours. :0)
1. Where do you dream of traveling to and why?
Sigh. Everywhere. I’d love to see the British Isles, the rest of Europe, the pyramids, Australia, Asia, Mayan pyramids, you name it. Why? Well, old things appeal to me, and some of the ancient structures of the world are high on my wish list to see. I also love natural beauty, especially beaches, and as a former wildlife biologist, I’d love to see some of the animals I know from zoos in their natural settings. Does travel play in the writing of your books? Occasionally. I don’t think about it as such, but I try to set the book wherever the book needs to be set.
2. Where do you research for your books?
Well, since I can’t afford to travel yet, my two primary sources are the internet and the library. I DO try to use academic sites, serious history organizations, for example, or local travel bureau information rather than the less reliable Wikis and such.
3. What does your family think of your writing career?
They’re mostly very supportive. Shortly after I sold my first book, my computer broke, and my father ran out and got me a new one so I could keep writing. My sons think it’s cool, even though they have NO interest in actually reading my “girl books”. My husband is my biggest supporter, always there to give me an ego boost when I’m feeling low. He’s been willing to put up with the slow climb to actually making money, and I absolutely couldn’t do this without him. Does your significant other read your stuff? Only if I beg. If there’s something I’m having trouble with, he’ll pitch in and help, (a passage involving military stuff, for instance—he read that and fixed it) and he’s available to bounce ideas off of—and really quite good at it. Do you have critique partners or beta readers, then? I do. I have another erotic/romance author I send stuff back and forth with on pretty much a daily basis, and I have a local critique group, a mix of romance, horror, and SF/F who will read anything BUT erotic.
4. Do you hear from your readers?
Not as often as I’d like. I’m always so thrilled when I do—it still amazes me that anybody actually buys my books and reads them. It’s such a rush. What kinds of questions do they ask? If they ask a question it’s usually “Are you doing a book about so-and-so?” or “When does the next book in this series come out?”
5. What do you think makes a good story?
It has to grab you and pull you in. I read romance because I want to take a break from reality and go someplace where I know there’s going to be a happy ending. For romance, what I need is a heroine I can identify with, at least a little, a hero I can fall in love with, and a plot that makes the two of them work for their happiness. And of course, the HEA is NOT optional in my world.
6. Morning Or Night Person?
Absolutely NOT a morning person, though I’m occasionally forced to conform to the rest of the world.
7. What would we find under your bed?
I’m writing this before Romanticon, though by the time it posts, Amber, you and I will both be there. Stored under my bed: a suitcase storing antique paintings done by my dh’s grandmother—there are too many to have on the walls all at once. A plastic bin of purses and tote bags, and my dh’s mandolin. Well, there are also dust bunnies the size of rhinos, and usually a missing sock or two, maybe a couple dog toys that get kicked under there. This week, I also have stuff I’m getting together for Romanticon.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? THANK YOU! Without you, I couldn’t do what I do, and I’m very, very lucky to be able to tell stories for a living. I really do love to hear from you, and here’s where you can find me on the web:

Road Trip Continues
After what felt like a comedy of errors, the DH and I finally got on the road around 1pm. Two hours later than we'd planned. Trying to pack the car in the pouring rain was not fun to say the least. So looking like two drowned rats, we started our journey.
Thru RI, CT, NY, NJ and finally PA we hit all sorts of weather. We made a few stops along the way, but overall we didn't run into any major traffic. Woo Hoo.
After a thorough check for bed bugs we got our stuff from the car and crashed. (sorry but with the epidemic that seems to be plaguing the US I won't bring my stuff into a room until I'm sure it's bug free) :o)
We have three more hours on this journey before meeting up with all the staff, authors, readers and lets not forget the cavemen, who will adorn Romanticon 2010. There are few of my friends who won't be attending, sniff, sniff, but I'll send their love.
In other news Dante's Desire received 4 stars from NOR. You can read the review here:

Happy Thursday!
PS. Tomorrow Cindy Spencer Pape will be my special guest. PLEASE stop by and show this wonderful author some love.

Road Trip
I’m about to embark on a road trip with my DH. He’s my true life hero. He knows how much I hate to fly so he offered to drive with me. It’s a ten hour journey and I tend to get cranky when in the car for long periods of time, IF we get stuck in traffic. On our last trip in July what should’ve been a six hour trip turned into nine when we got stuck in NYC. It took us three hours to move two miles. I was driving and let me tell you it wasn’t pretty when we emerged. :o)
So where are we going? To RomantiCon, Ellora’s Cave conference for their readers, authors and aspiring writers. It runs from October 7th thru the 10th this year and I’m thrilled to be going. I’m armed with loads of giveaways. If you happen to be in the Richfield, OH area do stop in on Sunday for the Book Fair and say hello. I’ll have goodies during my book signing too.
As the time draws near I’m starting to grow nervous. It’s not shock that I’m a terribly shy person. I tend to be the one hiding in the corner afraid something stupid will come out of my mouth. I try to blend in the background taking in everything others are saying. I rarely offer an opinion on anything. This is where my husband comes in handy. He’s a social butterfly. He’ll strike up a conversation with just about anyone and offer his opinion whether or not you want it. (This is where I cringe) LOL
I know I’ll be surrounded by great friends like Regina Carlysle, Fran Lee, Cindy Spencer Pape and Anny Cook just to name a few.
For someone who suffers from stage freight as much as I do you’d think I was crazy to agree to host a reader based workshop with Fran Lee. I’ve thought about backing out many times, but I couldn’t do that to Fran. She’s such a wonderful person. I’m going to overcome my fears and move forward. BUT if you hear about a red-face blubbering idiot chances are it was me. LOL
I’ll be sure to take lots of pics to share with you. For those who adore the cavemen as much as me, I’ll be sure to get them too.
Until next week!
PS...don't forget I'll have few special guests so check back and show them some love.

Another Crazy Day!
Another busy day awaits me. I have packing and a to-do list a mile long. I'd hoped the cougar promo stuff I ordered would be here in time, but it doesn't look promising. I have fun stuff for the cougar baskets and giveaways, but I'd hoped to promo my cougar book too. Oh well.
I look around at all the stuff I have all over the house going to RomantiCon. When we get back the house will definitely be clutterfree. Months and months of preparation will finally pay off.
I'm barely 3k away from finishing a quickie I'm writing for a friend. It doesn't look like it will be done before I leave. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze in some writing time, but I highly doubt it.
Anyway, off to cut down this list!
Before I forget, my October's newsletter is out and I'm giving away an autographed copy of Ignite the Flames. You must be a subscriber to get the contest details and win. You can sign up over on the left. :0)

Manic Monday
Had an extremely busy weekend and the next two days will be just as crazy!
The countdown has begun…Thursday is fast approaching and I still have a lot to accomplish before heading out.
I managed to finish my latest wip and ship it off to one of my editor’s. I also got great feedback on a proposal. I have to sub a partial, but they’re seriously considering the contract. This is a first for me and I like it!!! Now I just have to get over this performance anxiety.
Today has been filled with last minute RomantiCon stuff, cover art forms and the newsletter I promised was coming Friday. Sorry, sometimes I’m not on time. It will arrive TODAY!

A Good Day
First off I have to give a big Thank You to the wonderful and talented Selena Illyria, who has once again pointed me in the direction of an awesome review of mine. I also would like to thank Theresa, at The Romance Studio for the fantastic review of Adrift.
As all writers’ do, I fretted over how this new book would be received. It was my first time writing M/M/F. I’ve written many ménage’s, but they were all M/F/M. Adrift was a hit with TRS. A Five Heart review! To read it go here:
http://theromancestudio.com/reviews/reviews/adriftskyze.htm
In other news I’ve finished my latest wip, a contemporary M/F, called Sex on the Beach (tentatively titled). I’m going to let it sit for a few days before I edit and send it off.
The warm weather had returned to New England. I spent a few hours on the pool deck yesterday and hope to get a few more in today. The day job has quieted down for this month so I get to enjoy some leisure time. Also all my promo stuff is pretty much done for Romanticon. I can’t believe it’s only two weeks away. I can’t wait to meet all my awesome friends and fellow authors.
Fran Lee and I will be doing a Reader based workshop. I’ll also be joining the lovely ladies of the Cougar Challenge series for a workshop…oh and tomorrow I’ll be showcasing my lovely new Cougar cover art. The lovely Syneca has worked her magic yet again.

A Whole Lot of Nothing
The last few days I’ve had no time on my hands. Today I have too much. I can hear everyone – THEN WRITE. I wish I could. I’m still fighting my muse. Pesky, stubborn, PIA won’t cooperate.
My youngest started 8th grade today. YAY. The house is quiet, except the three panting dogs. I mailed off a bunch of promo stuff to people today. Waiting for the winner of my newsletter to contact me with her mailing address so I can mail out her Dante’s Desire tote bag full of goodies.
My Romanticon stuff is coming along nicely. I have one promo item to order and I’ll be all set.
That’s all I got right now. Hard to talk about writing when I’m not doing any. I have nothing out there to be accepted. This sucks! LOL
Okay, I’m going to open my WIP and put 100 words in it. I don’t care if they make sense. Maybe it will get the juices flowing.

New Review and Release Date
A little bit of news today. NOR reviewed Pretend With Me. 4.25/5 Not bad. You can read the review here: Pretend With Me
Also I received word that Play With Me, the third book in the Freedom Fantasies will release on October 15th. One month after Spend The Night With Me. Pretty cool.
I’ve been working on the goody bags for Romanticon again. I’m undecided how many to make. I’ve finished 80 so far. They’re large ones and I’m thinking of doing 80 smaller ones. I’ve got my pens. Everyone loves pens right? I know I do. ;o)
That’s all for me today. Time to self-edit my Christmas story and get that off to my editor.
Before I go Regina Carlysle has a hot new release you must read!!! Check it out.
Book two in the Sequins, Saddles and Spurs series.
Blurb:
Lola Lamont leaves Vegas with two pals, never imagining they’d break down in small-town Texas. So what’s a former showgirl to do when she runs smack dab into the hottest sheriff south of the Mason Dixon line? Why, jump his bones, of course!

Chapter One
Lola Lamont gave her poor old pink Caddy a baleful look through the plate glass windows of Blue Belle’s Café and heaved a giant sigh. Her sweet baby had pretty much bitten the dust and her current companions at the table were right, she needed to be put out of her misery. Lola and her friends, Roxie and Emily, had rolled into the tiny town of Mesa Blanco, Texas with the old monstrosity of a car gasping and wheezing like a two-pack-a-day smoker.
Refugees from Vegas, the three friends had, in a moment of madness, said to hell with it and loaded up for a grand adventure with only pennies in their pockets and the good sense of a trio of pigeons.
What the hell had they been thinking?
The sad truth of the matter was they hadn’t been thinking at all. Roxie had lost her job as a security expert for high stakes gaming at a Vegas casino and Emily had been a victim of downsizing at the hotel where she worked. And herself? Lola sighed, still feeling the pain of it all. She had been fired from her show Pink Flamingo Girls for being too old. All those years of dance lessons and keeping her body in primo shape had turned to nothing just days after her thirtieth birthday. Then to make matters worse, her boyfriend Nick had dumped her days after that. Talk about a double whammy. Lola had never been one to have little pity parties for herself but she was about as blue as the décor of Mesa Blanco, Texas’ only café.
They’d stumbled into the place, exhausted, stressed and dying of thirst only to be met by three of the hunkiest, rope-’em-up, tie-’em-down cowboys they’d ever seen. The place had been practically empty except for them and, gallant gents that they were, the men had treated them to soft drinks, lord love ’em. Wyatt Cavenaugh, a local rancher, had already offered Emily a job as a cook of all things. Dang woman could barely boil water. Together they’d driven off in the man’s big truck. Roxie was, at the moment, caught up in a low conversation with the handsome owner of the local honky-tonk.
Tension ratcheted up a notch when the other dark, hunkalicious man moved closer to her and leaned in. The scent of him filled her head. “Want another Coke?”
Lola felt that deep, gravelly and oh-so-sexy voice roll over her body to settle in her pussy. Uh-oh. Trouble in a Stetson, for sure. Ever a sucker for a rough, smoky voice, she nodded. “You’re sweet but no thanks. Sam, is it?”
He tipped his big, black Stetson, his dark eyes burning with a look she’d come to recognize from just about every man she’d ever met. Hunger. Desire. Lust. Definite interest. Ooh boy. Did she ever know that look. “Sam Campbell, county sheriff.” His kissable lips turned up at the corners and Lola’s heart thumped hard in her chest. Late afternoon sunlight beamed through the window near the table to settle on the lines of his bronzed, weathered face and glinted on dark hair that she was dying to get a better look at.
“Lola.”
“Yeah, Lamont, a Vegas damsel in distress.”
Arching a brow, she gave him a considering look. “And you’ve come riding in on your big white horse?”
“Looks like it.”
“My hero. Nice to meet you.” Smiling, she held out her hand which he immediately engulfed in his. The warmth of his touch was sudden and unexpected and Lola felt the loss when he finally released her.
Damn if he wasn’t the sexiest man she’d seen in a long, long time and that included Nick Mantucci whom she’d thought was awfully handsome. Nick was a smooth operator who wore designer suits as if he were born to them. Not this man. Sam Campbell could’ve stepped out of a scene from one of those old shoot-’em-up movies she used to watch late at night when she couldn’t sleep. Tall, at least six-four or five of brawn and yummy goodness, he not only wore the authority of the sheriff’s badge pinned to his black shirt but carried it on his broad shoulders. The chest beneath that shirt was mounded and muscular practically making her fingers twitch with the need to touch. The man oozed testosterone and wasn’t this a hell of a time to notice such a thing?
Mentally rolling her eyes at her silly turn of thoughts, she glanced away regretfully thinking, wrong time and wrong place. Besides, she was just done with men. Especially those who made promises they’d had no intention of keeping.
“So what are you gonna do, Miz Lola?” Sam quietly sipped his coffee.
Sighing deeply, she jabbed her straw into her now empty beverage glass, making the ice cubes rattle. “Look for a job, I figure.” Feeling more tired than she’d felt in years, she leaned back in her chair and sent her gaze around the room as she tried to think. Her eyes lit on the fluorescent orange “help wanted” sign in the window. Straightening suddenly, she started to get up then remembered her manners. “Excuse me a minute, Sam.”
Feeling his gaze on her back, Lola grabbed up the sign and walked up to the taciturn, gray haired woman standing behind the counter. The heels of Lola’s cute high heeled sandals click clicked out a warning and the matronly lady glanced up with a frown.
“Can I help ya, miss?”
Lola set the sign on the counter. “Looks like you need help and I’d like to apply. Can you tell me who I need to talk with about a job?”
“You’d need to talk to me. I’m Belle Warren.” Belle, all of five two and built like an army tank, looked her up and down slowly and Lola got the feeling she didn’t like what she saw. Figured. Lola was pretty much used to that reaction. “Where ya from, little missy?”
“Vegas, ma’am.”
“Bull dung,” she said matter-of-factly. “That ain’t no city voice you’ve got there, girl.”
Lola opened her mouth to speak when Sam walked up and set his coffee cup on the counter. “Can I get a refill, Belle?”
That got a smile from Belle as she grinned and reached for the coffee pot. “Sure thing, Sheriff.” Seeming to forget Lola’s presence for the moment, she finally turned back to Lola and planted her fists on ample hips. “No sirree. You’ve got the deep south stamped all over you. Where you from?”
Sam propped his gorgeous, denim-covered butt on the nearest stool and listened unabashedly. Though it was damn hard, Lola tried to forget about him and focused on Belle.
“I’m from a little bitty town just outside Jackson, Mississippi.”
“You grew up there?”
“Yes’m. And I waited tables too. From the time I turned sixteen. I’m a really hard worker, Belle.”
“Hmph. Well, we’ll just see about that, I reckon. Now this ain’t permanent. Got that? Merrylee Hawkins just had a baby and she’ll be back for her job in about six weeks or so. That’s all I’ve got to offer.”
“Oh no, that’s okay,” she rushed. “I just need to make enough money to get out of town.”
“Why? You have somewhere you need to go?”
Lola had to think about that.
No, she really didn’t but she just couldn’t see herself staying here. The sleepy town of Mesa Blanco was far too similar to the town where she grew up and she hadn’t been able to leave that place fast enough. Nope. She wouldn’t be staying. Finally she shook her head and sighed. “Not really. I guess I just need some time to figure things out.”
“Okay then, I’ll try you out for awhile, Lola.”
Relief swept her and then she thought of something else. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Shoot.”
“Someone mentioned something about a rooming house?”
“Staying there requires money,” Belle said. She pursed her lips and then seemed to come to some kind of conclusion. “Listen here. There’s no need for that. I reckon you’re pretty much busted.”
“You’ve got that right. I’m a downright pauper at this point.”
“I figured. You ladies rolled in here without two plug nickels between you considering the three of you were gonna share one drink. Hell, I was prepared to contribute to the cause until Sam here, Wyatt, and Cliff jumped in to spring for the drinks. It’s clear ya’ll are pretty broke.”
“Pitiful.”
“Ain’t it just.” Belle shook her head. “Tell ya what. I’ve got a little apartment out back behind the café. I lived there when I was younger, back before I married and started a family. Over the years I’ve rented it out but it’s empty now. It’s not much but it’s furnished and clean. You can stay there until you get on your feet. How’s that sound?”
Lola was so overwhelmed she wiggled around in celebration and impulsively ran around the edge of the counter to give Belle a hug. Belle Warren was a sweetheart despite her gruff demeanor. Lola knew a little something about being judged on the basis of appearance. She should’ve known better. “Thank you. Thank you. Lordy! You won’t be sorry, ma’am.”
Belle stiffly patted her back. “Hell, I’m already sorry.”

Blurry-Eyed

The DH might come home from work later today and find me looking like this picture.
Yesterday the second half of my edits for Adrift arrived. Not too bad. I’ll get one more round and hopefully have a release date shortly after that.
I’m finishing up a partial to send off tomorrow.
Last night I attempted to watch Big Brother while putting together goody bags for RomantiCon. I say attempted because I have no clue what happened. I was so lost in the bags. I have 80 so far. I obviously have a lot more to do, but it’s a start. :O)
Add in day three of a migraine and I look like a train wreck!
Other than that looking forward to a work-free weekend. One more day!
Happy Thursday!
Happy Thursday!

New Week
Over the weekend I received final line edits for Pretend With Me. Just a few tags needed to be added – oh and my blurb needed to be redone. I’ve never had to rewrite a blurb. I hate writing blurbs in the first place, so you can only imagine how agonizing it was to do it a second time. Alas, I did it and got it off to my editor.
I managed to make it to my writer’s meeting where author C.D. Yates gave a workshop on writing Romantic Comedy. If you haven’t heard of her she has a few very books out. You can check them out here: http://cdyates.blogspot.com/ It was a very informative workshop and I learned a few pointers to add to my stories. So I’m glad I could attend.
I’ll all signed up for RomantiCon. Just need to book my flight. I’m dragging my DH along with me. We’re flying in a day early and staying a day longer. We had fun last time we were in Ohio for work and thought we’d site see again. We have to arrive early because planes do not like me. I suffer from motion sickness and well…it can get pretty ugly. This way I’ll be fine for all the fun.
In other news I partnered with Goddess Fish Blog Tour (see on the left). I’ll be featuring different authors from time to time, along with contests. I believe the first author will be this week. I’ll keep you posted on that.
In other news someone on the web has decided to bash pen names and mine was one of them. I have to laugh because thanks to this person my blog traffic has increased. So THANK YOU!!! And while some may be laughing at my pen name a lot of people ARE buying my books.
I have to wonder if these disgruntled bloggers are frustrated wannabes.

No Longer a Virgin
Conference Virgin that is. Yes, I attended my first writer’s conference this past weekend. The RWA-NEC conference. I’m a member of NEC and I must say there are a lot of EC authors! Friday my friend Donna and I arrived early. We met up with another friend for lunch. After we got settled in our rooms we registered.
The first workshop of the day was Brenda Novak. She spoke about emotion. This was a great two hour talk. The time flew by. During the Q&A someone asked if she was a plotter or pantser and her response struck a cord. She said she was a pantser. She said when she tries to write after plotting it feels forced because she feels in a lot of ways she’s already written the story. It was a light bulb moment for me.
I’m a self-proclaimed pantser, so this made sense to me. I like to let the characters explore and decide where they’re going. Looking back my rejected work has been plotted.
The food was to die for. At dinner my one friend H had the agent and editor sitting at our table laughing at her tales of drunken sluts in her books. This broke the ice for her agent appointment the next morning. She doesn’t really have drunken sluts in her books.
Dessert was a Q&A with Annette Blair. She is one of the sweetest women you’ll ever meet. I’ve known her for a little over three years and she continues to amaze me with her generosity and knowledge sharing.
The keynote speaker for breakfast was MaryJanice Davidson. OMFG, she is so funny. We laughed all through breakfast. Of course she received a standing ovation after her speech.
I attended a bunch of great workshops throughout the day including one given by fellow EC author Nina Pierce. She helped my friend H out with her workshop. H tends to write very long and Nina gave hints on how to write shorter.
There were free books and promo items galore. The conference ended with a book signing. I spent way too much, but that’s okay. That’s what it’s all about, right? Hopefully next year I’ll be sitting at one of the tables signing too.
I signed up for RomantiCon yesterday. Maybe I’ll have a print book for that conference. We’ll see.
Happy Tuesday.

Nice Long Weekend
It's so quiet on the loops with most of my fellow authors off to RomantiCon. I have a long weekend from work and I'm going to enjoy it writing. Yes, we have softball tournaments this weekend, but because we placed 1st in the league we only play one, possibly two games. If we win the first we go to the championship game. That was for our 12 and under team and 14 and under. So, the weekend shouldn't be that bad. The nice thing is the games don't start before 11am. Yay! I can have more writing time to myself.
The stomach bug seems to have finally left me. I don't like being sick. I'm not one to be waited on and the DH likes to pamper me when I'm sick. Don't get me wrong, it's sweet, but I like to hide away from everyone. This way I don't spread my germs.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend! I suddenly have the urge to go for a swim! ;)

Life Holted

Life seems to be at a standstill for me lately. I'm writing, but not much. I have three books due out before the end of the year. Two have been thru edits, one hasn't. My editor is "away" like some of my writer friends at RomantiCon, so I won't see edits for Ignited for a bit.
I'm still waiting on two cover arts. Funny, I received the one for Ignited. I love this cover. I really really want to share it, but haven't been given final approval yet.
My mind is still in a fog most days. I've come down with a stomach bug. That's taking a toll on me. I ran to the doctor's yesterday to make sure it was nothing to worry about. The baby has a nice strong heartbeat, so all is well in that department. Now if only I could recuperate from this.
We have a weekend of softball tournaments and I'm hoping I'm well enough to sit at the field all weekend.
I've been trying to blog, but I get an idea and it passes just as quick as it came. LOL
I just want to crawl up and sleep until this passes. Hope all my writer friends are doing better.
How about some eye candy?
