Still Making Changes

Yesterday was a much needed mental health day. I wrote about 100 words. Not much but it was something. Overall, I just vegged out. I turned off the television, left the personal computer behind and hung out in my sunroom. I had to pay attention to my work computer, but I can’t do any internet surfing or checking of personal email so I really did unwind.
When my daughter came home from school we sat and talked. It was a nice time. I’m glad I had the time to think. I’ve been making changes in my life over the last week and I’ve made two other big decisions yesterday. I can’t discuss either just yet. One because I want to tell a friend first. I’d hate for her to learn about it here and the other, well it’s too personal to share.
My family is coming in for a visit this weekend. Three days of my mom and aunt. They miss the baby and I can see they’ll be making monthly trips here until the snow begins to fall.
Time to start my day.

Peace and Quiet and hopefully Sunshine

The weatherman is promising sunshine today. I swear I feel water logged. We’ve had so much rain and snow the cover to my pool collapsed and is now sitting in the bottom of my pool. I can’t pull it out so the DH will have to work on that this weekend. I suppose now’s the best time to open the pool! LOL I know the weather isn’t warm enough for swimming but I can hope.
I love Thursday’s. The DH goes into the office and my daughter and her children usually get out of the house for the day. That means a quiet day for Amber. Work is normally slow – an added bonus.
I need some quiet to get writing done. I have one book out for submission and nothing waiting in the wings. I’d like to have something to sub soon.

Ho Hum

92! That was yesterday’s temperature. I love it! Sorry to all those who hate the hot weather, but I love it. The hotter the better. Today is supposed to be in the low 80s and tomorrow back down to 60s. Guess I have to take the good with the bad in April. I’m not complaining. Besides I have to work Saturday.
I’m still not writing. Can’t find the motivation. I’m not even opening any of my wips and pretending I’m gonna write. I’m surprised I’m blogging.
I guess I’ll spend the day on the deck. Take my con calls while soaking up the sun. The dogs will enjoy me being out there because I’ll toss the ball longer than usual. At least someone will be happy – right?

Klutz

Look the word up in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of ME! The last few days we’ve been getting torrential rains here in RI. Being the good mother that I am I didn’t want my daughter walking home from the bus stop in this mess, so I picked her up. Pulled in to the driveway and we made a beeline for the house. My daughter made it to the front door with no issues, me not so lucky. She turns to find her mother sprawled flat on the ground. Well, half on the sidewalk, half on the cement stairs. Go ahead laugh I’m sure I looked funny and I can laugh now. But I’m sore. So freakin’ sore it’s hard to write. My right hand, arm and shoulder are killing me. I hurt my side too. No bruising on the right side, which took the brunt of the fall, but I have a nice bruise on my left arm. Needless to say, I’ve been hanging on the couch the last two days.
Even if I hadn’t hurt myself, my city, along with a few others, have been declared a state of emergency. They’re asking people to stay home if possible. The flooding is awful. My son’s friend couldn’t get to his house because his street was flooded, so we put him up for the night. A bunch of my friends are suffering wet basements. We’ve been lucky so far. The rain has finally stopped but that doesn’t mean the flooding is over.
People are being evacuated and power is being shut off for fear of fire. Watching the news is depressing. I can’t imagine being forced out of my home. They’ve been asking for volunteers to help with the animals. I know some folks who don’t have flood insurance and half their house is under water. Can you just see the fight with the insurance companies when all is said and done?
They say the sun will shine tomorrow. Hopefully all the people suffering will be okay.

Ho-Hum

I'm back in a funk again. Not writing. I think the last round of edits took everything I had. I know new edits are coming my way soon too. I just finished the cover art request for Heat Waves. I really enjoyed writing this book and look forward to the release.

Instead of waking at 4-4:30am, I find myself sleeping until almost 7 every morning. Enough time to have coffee before starting my work day. Can you see the avoidance???

I have three wips, one for each publisher, I could be working on, but I'm not. Luckily none are under deadline. I have an idea for a M/M mulling around in my fried brain. I want to start it, but I'm waiting to hear what my editor thinks of another one I submitted.

I do hear the pool and my bright orange float calling my name! LOL With the limited sunshine this summer, I try to get outside as much as I possibly can. Hopefully I'll snap out of this mood soon and get back to writing.
