Yesterday was my local chapter’s meeting. I hadn’t planned to stay for the workshop because I don’t write historical nor do I have the desire to. I love to read it, but in all honesty I hate intense research. Just being honest here folks.
Anyway, Donna Russo Morin, who is a fantastic historical author, gave a brilliant workshop. It was interactive, fun and I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. I laughed and laughed for two hours.
Mind you I left a VERY sick husband at home in bed. He was in and out of the bathroom before I left. I offered to stay home and he said definitely not. He wanted me to get out. I’m so glad I did. There’s nothing like laughter with friends to make you feel better.
Cheers to all my writer friends and our local chapter. I had a blast.
Not sure I'll be able to top that today...the DH is still sick and I think there will be a trip to the ER. :(

Monday Fun
Congrats to all the Green Bay Packer fans on the Super Bowl win. The DH, youngest daughter and I watched the game. Well, said daughter crashed during halftime and I didn’t make it through the 4th quarter. It was funny I kept telling the DH to fast forward through the game so I could see the commercials. LOL
I enjoyed the Coke Cola with the Dragon, the Darth Vader and the Doritos one where the guy licks the other guy’s fingers. The halftime show was a big disappointment. I’m not a huge Black Eyed Peas fan, but they have a few good songs. You could barely here any of the band singing except Will I Am. No big deal for me. :o)
We did have some yummy food though. After pigging out I settled on the recliner and well…sleep took over.
I had an extremely busy weekend. I made it to the writer’s meeting, but got a call that I had to work. So I had to skip the retreat and head home. From 3-midnight I was stuck on a conference call. YUCK!
Sunday I went grocery shopping while the DH and youngest went to the Pet Show. They brought home lots of goodies for the dogs. L, got her picture taken with a rather large BOA wrapped around her. *shudder* I give her credit. I wouldn’t have done it.
Today it’s back to the daily grind. I learned a few things about doing my taxes this year. Last year my accountant set me up as a business. I thought I had all my paperwork in order and the way she’d want it, until I attended Saturday’s workshop. Today I’ll be fixing said paperwork.

Got Eggs?

I got so used to not blogging while away I almost forgot today.
I thought I took more pics than I did. It turns out most of mine were of Angelo. Go figure, right!

As you know I had a fantastic time at RomantiCon. Fran Lee and I did a reader based workshop to find out what readers are interested in seeing or not seeing in books. Most said they want a HEA, Happily Ever After or at least a promise of one, aka Happy For Now.
I personally always write this way, because as a reader it’s what I want too.
Anyway the day of the workshop I had a terrible sore throat. I wasn’t sick...no, instead it was induced by my DH’s sense of humor or timing for that matter.
Early Saturday morning we went to the breakfast buffet. Now, mind you I didn’t care for the scrambled eggs the day before and they were serving them again. They did look better so I took a small scoop and loaded my plate with fruit. I’m a breakfast person. I wanted breakfast.
So we go sit down and I’m picking at my fruit. I decide to try my eggs. Just as I shovel some in the DH says, “Yup, same yummy eggs as yesterday. My ass is already clenching.”
I begin to laugh so hard, the eggs go down the wrong pipe. I started choking and coughing like crazy. Yup this is why I had a sore throat the rest of the day and had trouble speaking during my workshop.
Thanks Honey!!!!!!!!
Happy Wednesday!
