Splashing Good Time

Reece Collins craves a no-strings-attached, torrid sexual encounter. Problem? The only person offering is ten years her junior. Nathan Donovan has lusted for Reece forever. One brief encounter leaves him yearning for more, but when she splashes cold water on his plans, he has to choose between walking away or spanking some sense into her.

Ignited

Nikaya is celebrating her birthday with a new Mustang. As she races up the side of a mountain in her new car, a police officer comes out of nowhere. He pulls her over, spanks her then whisks her away to a secluded cabin. There, the officer—and a friend—have a few surprises for the birthday girl. Surprises that include whips, floggers, blindfolds and more.

On the run from the mob, the last thing Ethan needs is a distraction like Bailey. She’s sexy and sassy—and he wants to take her where she stands. Of course, Bailey would never have sex with a stranger. Then again, Ethan is her best friend’s brother, so that makes him a friend too, right? And what’s a little sex between friends?

Whet Your Appetite Wednesday - Ignited

Blurb:
Got Fantasies?  Nikaya does. She longs to be loved by two men.
Nikaya is celebrating her birthday with a new mustang. As she’s climbing the mountain in her new car a police officer comes out of no where. He pulls her over and treats her to a birthday spanking. With a sore bum and a burning need to orgasm she’s whisked away to a cabin.
Before the night is over Braden hopes to make all her fantasies reality and his best friend Hank is ready to help.
Three bodies, sex toys and a spanking machine is only the beginning for Nikaya.

Excerpt:

“Step out of the car, ma’am.”
“Huh?”
“I said, step out of the car.”
“What is this all about?” Surely this could be handled from the safety of her car.
“Now.”
His stern voice prompted her out of the car.
“Hands against the car. Legs spread.”
“You’re joking right?” She looked at his face and he didn’t appear to be kidding. He looked stone-cold serious.
Shaking his head he pointed to the hood of the car.
Nikaya did as she was instructed, cursing under her breath.
“Excuse me?” He placed a hand on the small of her back.
Heat coursed through her body from his touch.
“Nothing,” she spat. Then added. “Sir.”
He snickered behind her.
Condescending bastard.
His hand roamed south resting on her bare leg. As he pushed his body against hers she felt his hardness rub against her. He whispered in her ear. “Spread ’em.”
This definitely was not the norm, she thought swallowing back the urge to cry. His touch felt hot against her cool skin. Nikaya spread her legs.
“I see from your license it’s your birthday today.” His hand crawled up her leg and under her skirt. “Ummm, no panties.”
“I have no use for them. They’re cumbersome,” she admitted.
“Oh, so wet,” he whispered, grazing his finger along the folds of her pussy.
Nikaya bit her lip, she would not moan. Just because the touch of his finger along her slit set her soul on fire. She would not allow him to know how he affected her.
“Did I do something wrong officer?”
“You were racing up the mountain at a pretty high speed. Do you know the dangers of these winding roads?” He patted her down.
“I’m not armed.”
Ignoring her, he continued his search. Both hands caressed her legs before he lifted her skirt up over her ass.
“I don’t believe this is protocol, Sir.” Her legs grew wobbly under his touch.
“Are you questioning my authority?” He stood, gently guiding her body onto the hood of the car.
“No, it’s just—”
She was quieted by his hand swooping down smacking her across her bare ass.
“Ouch! What was that for?” She attempted to cover her sore cheek.
He quickly grabbed her hand and pinned it over her head.
“For getting obstinate with a police officer.”
“I find it hard to believe you’re a police officer.”
“You don’t believe I’m an officer? I guess I’ll have to convince you.”

Unofficial Start to Summer

As a kid this is the weekend when summer always began. The beaches opened, if you had a pool that got opened too. Picnics started this weekend and my mom allowed me to wear shorts if the weather permitted. I don’t care that the calendar says another few weeks, for me this is the unofficial start to summer.
I want to celebrate by giving away a print copy of my book Ignite the Flames.

Here’s what you’ll find inside the book:

 Splashing Good Time

12 Days of Christmas - Day 6

We’ve reached the halfway mark of the 12 days of Christmas contest. I can’t believe Christmas is only 9 days away. I’ll be busy next week.
I ran myself too much yesterday. By noontime I was flat out on the couch with my ereader. At RomantiCon I met Shoshanna Evers. She’s such a friendly person. Not to say the other authors weren’t because they were all great.
Anyway she was telling my husband about her book coming out called Ginger Snap. She explained about the use of ginger called ginger-figging. He was totally fascinated – don’t take much to get him excited he is a man after all. Yesterday it released over at Ellora’s Cave and I immediately bought the book. Within an hour I’d devoured the entire story and boy was it sizzling. All I can say is Holy Hotness.
I highly recommend this book to everyone!
It’ll be another day on the couch for me, with another new book. I’m in the mood to read Christmas stories.

The winner of Day 5 contest is: Linda Kage. Send me an email to amberskyze @ aol.com and I’ll send you a copy of Talk Dirty to Topaz.

Day 6 question of the day – What does the police officer learn from Nikaya’s driver’s license? Yup, it’s in the excerpt.
Tomorrow I have a special guest, so the winner will be announced on Saturday, when the 12 Days of Christmas returns.

Blurb:
Got Fantasies? Nikaya does. She longs to be loved by two men.

Nikaya is celebrating her birthday with a new Mustang. As she’s climbing the mountain in her shiny new car, a police officer comes out of nowhere. He pulls her over and treats her to a birthday spanking. With a sore butt and a burning need to orgasm, she’s whisked away to a cabin.

Braden and his best friend Hank have a few surprises up their sleeve for the birthday girl. They include whips, floggers, chains, blindfolds and more. They hope to make all her fantasies reality.

Three hot bodies, sex toys and a spanking machine are only the beginning for Nikaya.

Excerpt:
Nikaya floored the gas pedal as she climbed the windy mountain road in her new black Mustang. The beige plush leather seats caressed her legs. The Mustang, a gift to herself for her thirtieth birthday, roared up the hill with ease. Some might look at thirty as the end of having fun, a time to grow up and figure out where they were going in life, but not her. No, she knew exactly where she was going and the car was not some midlife crisis purchase. She looked at thirty like an awakening to a new decade—one that would allow her more freedom to explore who she really was.
With the top down she felt alive. Warm air blew her long sandy blonde hair away from her face. As she drove higher and higher into the mountain, blood pumped through her veins. She was free.
The sun dipped behind the mountain caps. Nikaya didn’t worry as dusk settled upon the town of Desmond Point. She knew the lay of the land like the back of her hand. She pressed the pedal slightly harder with her high-heeled sandal, gunning the engine on the desolate road. Her fire-engine red fingertips gripped the steering wheel. One wrong move and she could find herself flying over the side of the mountain, crashing on the rocky bottom. Adrenaline soared, her heart pumped wildly. She loved living on the edge, the thrill of adventure.
A quick glance in her rearview mirror alerted her to trouble.
“Shit,” she cursed, noticing the glare of the flashing red light. “Where did he come from?” The road had been virtually empty for the last two miles.
She slowed down and found a safe spot to pull over. Was this the right thing to do? The flashing lights weren’t on top of the car, they were inside. She’d read articles about crazies who liked to pretend they were police officers. They’d pull over unsuspecting women and then rape them. Could this guy be one of them?
She tapped her fingertips on the wheel, contemplating what she should do. Should she call and verify he was for real? Her cell phone probably wouldn’t get reception this high up the mountain. She couldn’t take off and leave him standing there, just in case he was a true officer.
Another thought popped in her mind. Would he give her a speeding ticket? A ticket was not something she wanted for her birthday. Maybe he would cut her some slack.
“Evening, ma’am,” the man said, approaching the car.
“Sir.” His sun-streaked brown hair fell haphazardly around his face. He wasn’t in uniform. He was dressed in black slacks and a short-sleeved white button-down shirt. The top three buttons were undone, exposing a small patch of dark brown hair. He looked more like someone who spent most of his days on the beach, rather than driving around in a police car. Another glance in the rearview mirror warned her he wasn’t driving a police cruiser. A shiver of fear passed through her as she gazed into the most astonishing blue eyes.
“Do you realize how fast you were going?” he asked.
She shrugged, indifferently.
“I’m gonna need your license and registration.” He leaned two muscular hands on the door.
He smelled of sun and sand.
Nikaya obediently dug through her purse, looking for the documents. Once she retrieved her license she handed it to him. “Look, officer, I didn’t mean any harm. I—”
“Step out of the car, ma’am.”
“Huh?”
“I said, step out of the car.”
“What is this all about?” Surely this could be handled from the safety of her car.
“Now.”
His stern voice prompted her out of the car.

“For getting obstinate with a police officer.”
“I find it hard to believe you’re a police officer.”
“You don’t believe I’m an officer? I guess I’ll have to convince you.”
His hand came crashing down on her buttocks again.
And again.
“Please stop. I’m begging you.”
“Begging me, huh? It’s your birthday and you know what that means, right?”
“What?” she choked. The sting in her cheeks sent the rest of her body into a tizzy. The burn had her pussy pooling with juices.
“You need to get your birthday spankings. One for each year. I see here you’re thirty this year. I’m going to slap that sweet ass thirty times and each time my hand cracks those luscious cheeks I want you to count. Do you understand?”
She understood but she didn’t agree with him. There was no way she was going to stand there and accept his spanking.
“I’m waiting for an answer, Ms. Murphy.”
“And if I don’t?”
He chuckled.
“Let’s just say you won’t like the consequences.”
She was tempted to scream for help but knew no one would hear. Except maybe one of the owls hooting in the distance or a nocturnal animal but they wouldn’t save her. There wasn’t a house for miles and the likelihood of another car driving up the mountain at this time of the night was slim. She was at the mercy of this man. She had to do what he said or else.
“Yes, I understand.”
“Good.” He smacked her ass.
Silence.
“I’m waiting.”
“One,” she cried.
He smacked her a few more times.
“Two, three, four…”
“You’ve got the hang of this.” His smugness irritated her. Her ass needed cool water to extinguish the burning radiating it.
He continued slapping her cheeks and she continued counting until they reached thirty.
“You’ve been a very obedient girl. Maybe I’ll let you go without a ticket.”
“I still don’t believe you’re a cop. Where’s your cruiser? Where’s your badge,” she challenged. He pressed her harder against the car hood and draped his body over hers.
“You want to see my badge? I’ll show you my badge.”
The sound of his belt coming undone pierced her ears. The zipper descended. He still had a strong grip on her wrists.
“What are you doing?” she demanded.
“Showing you my badge.”
“I believe you. Just give me a ticket and I’ll be on my way.”
“Oh honey, I’m just getting started.”
With his free hand he positioned himself behind her. His leg pushed hers farther apart. He guided his stiff cock to the edge of her cunt.
“You want this, don’t you?”
She remained silent. She wasn’t about to admit that she was turned on. The way he warmed her ass caused a stirring she hadn’t felt in a long time. Excitement. She was highly aroused and the prospect of being fucked against her new car, on the open mountain road, had her adrenaline soaring.

Overextended and Two New Reviews

It seems I've overextended myself. I've got too many projects I'm juggling right now and don't know where to begin. When this happens I shut down. I don't write at all. I did manage to write a synopsis yesterday.
I've got two editors interested in two full length mss. Both fall outside the erotica genre and so I'll assume two new names if they're contracted.
School is only a few weeks away for my youngest. I need to start thinking about shopping. Around the same time my other daughter turns 21 - woo hoo. She's excited. So we know there's a party that needs to be planned.

In other news Night Owl Reviews has reviewed two of my books. Both were pretty good. I got nervous with the Submit With Me review. She gave it a 3.75, but then it started off as if she hated the book. After reading further that wasn't the case. Here are the links if you want to check them out!

Veiled Secrets Reviews Loved IGNITED

What a nice way to start the day. Veiled Secrets Reviews sent me their review of Ignited and it was fabulous. I must admit this is one of my all-time favorites. Here's part of what they had to say.

5 Silver Dragons -
It was encouraging to me to think of how it would feel to experience your fantasies just once. What a trip it would be to have all your desires come to life as it did for Nikaya. Ignited starts with a bang and keeps exploding the entire story.

Dizzy - Not Just In My Head

So I’ve been in bed the last three days, not really sure what was wrong with me. The only symptom I had was dizziness. I’d get up and the room would spin. Mind you I get motion sickness very easily. I thought I had vertigo. I’ve had it twice in the past, but this time it was stronger. A friend asked me if I had my medications changed recently and I quickly jumped and said no.
This morning when I was going threw a pile of papers on my desk I found paperwork for my prescription company who I’m fighting with to get my acid reflux medicine changed back to my original stuff. Nothing I take works except Protonix. Then the bells went off. I’ve been taking the Nexium they sent until I get other script. I did some research and sure enough dizziness is a side effect/allergic reaction to Nexium. BINGO!
I placed a call to my doctor who told me to stop taking immediately…well duh! Now I must suffer until the stupid prescription company my insurance decided to use sends me the other script. I detest these mail order drug companies. But nothing I can do about it I have to have my meds. I’m at their mercy.
In other news I received a three star review from The Pen and Muse to read it go here:

This Sucks!

Tough day. Not only do I have to drive a few hours back home, I have to break some bad news to my DH. I learned Tuesday that my daughter is expecting AGAIN. Mind you our grand daughter is barely 10 months. The daughter is 14 weeks along.
The other grandmother thinks this is the greatest thing. Hmmm, her son is unemployed and living with her. My daughter is working PT going to school at nights and living at home with me. How is this a good thing? We can’t possibly fit another baby in the bedroom where they’re staying. (They’re sharing a room with my 12 year old). There just isn’t room for another person no matter how small.
So not only to I have to rehash fresh wounds I have to inform the daughter that she needs to get her butt in gear along with the baby’s father and find a place to live. Oh I’m so not looking forward to today. In all honesty my daughter knows this was a temporary situation and that T needs a room of her own. It’s the other half that needs a good kick in the ass.
I’ll trade places with ANYONE out there! LOL
And if I wasn’t cranky enough I’m not writing. That makes me more unbearable. I haven’t written anything in ten days. I need to get back in action and write.

I'm Here!

I made it! I traveled thru all sorts of weather yesterday. What is normally a 2 ½ hour drive lasted almost four. It wasn’t until I hit NY that driving became unbearable. I wasn’t over the boarder five minutes and the roads were unplowed and the snow was coming down heavy. For the next twenty minutes I cursed about no plows on the roads. Then I was blessed with three plows in front of me. Be careful what you wish for. I was going along at a decent speed until they showed up. I had to drive 10mph behind them. An hour later I arrived at my mom’s house.
I spent the afternoon with a friend. We’ve been friends for over twenty-five years, but don’t see each other often. So I spent the day at her place reminiscing over old photos of us. I’ll tell you the summer of ’03 was a fun time for us. :o) We had a wild summer traveling all over.
Today I’m going to spend some time with my cousin. We’re going to dinner to catch up on the last three years. We didn’t get to spend much time together over the weekend and I want to hear all about how he’s been.

Debating

I’m debating whether or not to make the trip to NY. It’s three hours in the car, but it’s snowing out. I’m more worried about driving through MA. That’s where the potential for blizzard like conditions are. I really want to go. There are so many things that need to get done here. I still have an article that needs to be written. I have to put my chapter newsletter together and get that out in the mail. But honestly all that can wait. I deserve this mini vacation. If the DH didn’t have to go into the office for full days the next few days I’d consider staying home. The biggest issue is Mom doesn’t have wireless. No one in her neighborhood has wireless. UGH. Yes, she has a computer, but she enjoys spending a lot of time on it. That means no internet for Amber – or very limited.
I suppose I could live without it for a few days, if I really had to. I’m good with all my editors, so they won’t be looking for me. I might even get some quality writing time in. We’ll see.

In other news I’m a guest today at: Erotic Romantic Crush Junkies. Stop by I’m giving away a copy of Ignited. http://erjunkiesreviews.blogspot.com/

Itching for Spring

Yesterday school was closed…for no good reason. They predicted we’d get 16 inches of snow. We got about 2! The heavy stuff didn’t even start falling until after four. The kids could have gone to school. But see two years ago we got a storm mid-morning, causing the schools to let the children go home early. Well kids were stuck on buses for almost five hours in some places. My daughter wasn’t one of them. It took the DH seven hours to get home from work that day. Normally it’s an hour drive. The city and state officials took so much heat. So instead of facing another fiasco they immediately close the schools. Lucky me… my daughter was home, driving me crazy. I don’t want to hear I’m bored again! LOL
Nothing got accomplished. I haven’t written all week. I’m in a slump. I open a document and stare at it. The words just won’t come. The DH and I are going away for the weekend. It will be nice to have a change of scenery.
Edits for Research Required were waiting in my inbox this morning, so I know what I’ll be doing today. I have to finish my cover art form for Dante’s Desire too.
In other news Ignited received its first review and it’s awesome. You can read it here:

Ticked Off!

Yesterday sucked! I spent the day in bed battling some sort of bug. It was most likely stress related as Tuesday was worse. Being out on disability I’ve been getting paid regularly. Things moved smoothly. No lag in the paychecks. THAT should’ve been my first sign.
I’ve been logging into my work email once a week just to keep it under control – well I’m glad I did. I received an email from payroll saying “we’re sorry to inform you that we’ve overpaid you for the following pay periods.” It basically stated that they’ve overpaid me for every bit of time I’ve been out and would be taking the money back in future paychecks. First of all I was on paid vacation when went out on disability. Secondly, maternity leave is 100% covered for 8 weeks.
I can’t get a hold of ANYONE to answer my questions.
I tried responding to the person who emailed me, no response. I emailed HR directly – no response. I CALLED HR, keep getting disconnected. Called the company that handles the short term – talked to someone! HA!
She had no clue, but she’d have someone call me. Tuesday, no call…Wednesday, still no call…wait at 9pm someone called. She couldn’t really help, but sympathized with my situation. She stated she was having issues with our HR department lately. They haven’t been responding to emails or phone calls. You wouldn’t mind but I work for a large well known company. WTF is going on?
Checked email again this morning – nothing. Have to wait until 10am Central time to start calling again. Like I want to spend my days fighting over money owed to me.
You don’t mess with my family, money or friends…unless you want me to f#$% you up. Can’t wait to start this battle all over again.
On a better note, I received a nice email from an author who I don’t know personally, but have read her work. She wanted to let me know she read Ignited and enjoyed it so much that she bought two more of my books during the 50% sale at Are. That was really cool and made my day! :o)
Happy Thursday everyone. Let the fun begin!

“Hands against the car. Legs spread.”

Crabby Monday

Dante's Desire is finished and will be off to my editor shortly. It's been awhile since a story just poured out of me like DD did.

Today I need to write a synopsis for the cougar challenge. This story came to me too! I rarely write a synopsis first or have an outline, but I know where this story will go from start to finish. I'm scaring myself! LOL

Tomorrow I'm celebrating my next release from Ellora's Cave. I'll be having a contest here and I'll be a guest on a few other blogs, where I'll be giving away a copy of Ignited. So be sure to come back and find out where you could win a copy of Ignited.

So why am I crabby? I didn't sleep last night. Plus I've been at a lack of things to write about on my blog. The interview and guest blog requests are flying in and I'm VERY happy to promote my work, but I'm blog blocked. LOL
I guess I should be happy it's not writer's block and the stories are flowing.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Terrific Tuesday

I woke up REALLY early this morning. I’m working on a story called Dante’s Desire for a themed series for EC. The deadline is the 31st and I just started the story a few days ago. It’s going to be a quickie, probably around 12K. I’m at 5k as of this morning. I should be working on book two of my Shea Manor series, (seeing as book one and three are written), but this story was calling to me – BIG TIME. So I put aside the other story to work on this. I wanted to spend more time writing today, but I promised to baby sit for my grand daughter while my daughter goes to work. I’m happy that I added over 2k today. If I keep this up I can submit it before the 31st.
The BIG news that has me doing the snoopy dance is the contract in my inbox this morning for Research Required. I resubmitted it to my editor Saturday and received the contract today. It needed a little tweaking which I did and much to my editor’s satisfaction, obviously. :o)
So while this New Year started off on a low note, the last week has been a huge turnaround for me.
Happy Tuesday everyone.
