Better Late Than Never!

To say I’ve been busy lately is an understatement. I’m not complaining, just explaining. It was super nice to have guest bloggers so I didn’t feel guilty about not blogging. I’ve also been plague with migraines. For a week straight I couldn’t get rid of them. Today is the first day I woke without one. Woo Hoo.

I finished my shifter and will be sending it off to my editor later today. I’m waiting on a few details from my writing partner to wrap this baby up.
The contemporary is coming along nicely. I’m averaging 1500 words a day. It’s amazing how little or no sex can make me feel like a writing machine.
I’m also in the process of writing up a three book proposal. More details to come at a later date.
I’ve also just finished my article writing class. It’s amazing the things I’ve learned. Even though I’ve been writing and selling non-fiction for a long time I learned things I didn’t know. I’d say the class was well worth the money. I’m sure I’ll see a return on my investment.
I’m now taking a copywriting class. Yes, I’m a bit crazy.
The final change I’m making, with the DH is we’ve begun exercising again. I did my time on the treadmill this morning and I feel amazing! Let’s hope I feel that way tomorrow! LOL

Happy Monday.

Another Work Week!

Last week was a week from hell for me at my job. This week isn’t going to be much better. Next week, which is my last before my leave of absence should be relatively quiet? Knock on wood.
We had a good weekend, traveling to Boston to celebrate my brother in laws birthday and shopping for the remainder of things need for our pending arrival.
Casey Anthony is a free woman. That’s the headlines everywhere you look. But she’s not free. The public still wants justice for her precious little daughter and I believe one day they’ll get it. Of all the people I know who long to be a parent; stories like this enrage me to no end. Whether it was intentional or an accident – and no I’m not referring to the swimming pool story, which I don’t believe. Why is it that life is so easy for these women to have children? That’s all I can say on the subject. I get too emotional.
So it’s back to work and back to adding KINK to my current wip. Here’s the problem. I have no desire to write about kink or sex for that matter. This will surely make my sex scene suffer. Hopefully my editor will push to make it stronger. I may take my friend up on her offer to read the scene and see where I can spice it up. I really hope once the baby arrives my desire to write will return.

Christmas in July is half over and we only have 17 entries. You can win some awesome prizes. Check out the details to the right and enter today!
Happy Monday!

On The Mend

I think I’m finally mending this time. I was able to leave the house yesterday, aside from going to doctors. The DH and I went and ordered the baby furniture, so that will arrive in 2 weeks and then he gets the fun of putting it all together.
I wish the coughing would go away. I’m still taking Robitussin with codeine at night so I can get some sleep. Today I have to get back to writing. The 31st is right around the corner and I haven’t finished the wip I’m working on.
I did sign a new contract last week for a quickie called Chasing Forever. It’s a story of two best friends who finally give in to their feelings after a tragedy. More details coming.
Unless I finish this book and sub it – I have nothing out there. Zilch, zero, nada. I have lots of ideas and only 10 weeks to write before I hit the hospital. Exactly 10 weeks from today our daughter will arrive.
So I need lots of time and NO MORE SICKNESS.
Happy Monday!

Craziness Magnified

My To-Do list is growing by leaps and bounds. I’ve been away from my desk since Sunday because the floors are being done in my office. Today they’re supposed to finish up and I can put my life back together. I’m thinking of taking Friday off so I can get things done.
On top of life being chaos yesterday they had ot disconnect my internet most of the day. The first time was for an hour while the electrician installed the wiring for my radiant heat. My office is extremely cold so we put in a 3x10 piece to keep my feet toasty. The second time was to do the actual flooring. I work from home. I need internet access. They said it would be an hour so I told my boss an hour. Four hours later I had to insist they hook me back up.
The only benefit I got from being offline was I opened the recently rejected wip and added another scene to it. Today I’ll finish going over the chapter and send it off to another publisher. Gotta climb back on that horse right?
Happy Wednesday

Frustration

I’m working on three wips. No, I should correct that. I have three wips and I’m not working on any of them.
One is my contemporary romance for my agent appointment in April. I have to make the first ten pages shine so when the agent reads it in March she’ll ask for more when we meet. :o) Hey, you have to be confident.
The other is a M/F. I’m about 3500 words into it. The third is M/M/F and that has 2500 words. Every day I open one of the wips and every day it goes untouched. It seems my muse has taken an early spring vacation. I can’t blame her. The winter is horrible.
Oh well…our house is torn apart as we get new floors. Today is the carpeting in our bedroom. I’ll have guys working here until Monday. Maybe inspiration will return. We’ll see. LOL
Happy Wednesday!

Writer Time

Every Saturday of a writer’s meeting I contemplate whether or not to go. In fact I must say I’m not going frequently because this morning the DH said, “You say that every month. Go you always have fun.” LOL
It doesn’t take a lot of effort to go. It’s a 30 min drive. It’s only once a month and I get to hang out with lots of great writers. So what’s the issue? I always feel guilty. The DH doesn’t take time out to do a “his” thing. His thing is always spending time with me. I love him dearly, but I wish he had “a thing”. You know, something to take him out of the house for a few hours – at least once a month. Instead he wants to go places and do things with me.
As I was considering not going today I realized – it’s the only sanity I have right now. The house is overrun with children – adult, teenaged, toddler and babies. If I don’t escape I’ll go insane. Besides I want to go to the retreat for some suggestions on a contemporary romance I’m going to pitch to an agent in April. These are the ladies who will help.
So I’ll get ready and head out and by the time I come home I’ll be so high on excitement I’ll be ready to get back to my WIP. :o)

A side note from my post yesterday. While I don't have any teams playing in the Super Bowl I forgot about the commericals. I LUV the commericals. I still crack up from the one a few years ago Rock Paper Ssissors. With my short term memory I can't remember if it was for Bud or Pepsi, but I can't help but laugh when the guy threw the rock and knocked the other guy out. Priceless.
So yes, I'll be watching looking for a new commerical to love.

Vacation and New Review

Still enjoying the vacation. Temps were in the 90’s here yesterday. We originally planned to take the train into NYC, walk around, go to the Hard Rock CafĂ©, etc. We stepped outside and knew it was a crazy idea. Instead I took the DH to breakfast. We spent the day eating, shopping and then three hours playing volleyball in the pool. It was a fun-filled day. I can’t remember laughing that much in a very long time.
Later I took him, the two girls and the grandbaby out to dinner. Our son had a softball game with all this guy friends so he didn’t join us. Overall a great day.
Tonight we’re off to see the Red Sox. His parents bought him great seats for his birthday. Until then I have to get the house cleaned and in order for our trip tomorrow. Six hours in the car with three 13 yr olds. We must be insane!!!! LOL
On the writing front Pretend With Me, the first book in my Freedom Fantasies series, received a 4 cherry review from Whipped Cream. You can read it here

I haven’t written since Friday. My intentions were to take the entire week off from any writing. That ended today. *shakes head*
Yup, I started a new story. It’ll be a quick holiday story. I swore I wouldn’t write any holiday themed stories too. Yet this Naughty Nick wouldn’t stop talking in my ear to write his story. So this morning I began writing again. No rest for the wicked.
I have so many other ideas for stories, but Nick spoke the loudest. Demanding sucker.
Okay, off to play!

Happy Wednesday.
